Huskerboard Email Addresses????

Folks, we can set all the mods and admins up with Huskerboard email addresses (e.g., arhuskerfan@Huskerboard.com, rawhide@huskerboard.com, etc.). Is there any interest in this? I see some advantages:

1. Some of us have email addresses with our actual names in them, and don't feel comfortable with that information being easily accessible. What we'd do is set the accounts to your username.

2. "Stamp of authority" - when a member receives an email from one of us, they KNOW it came from us as Mods and Admins of Huskerboard.

3. Manage the mods@Huskerboard.com distribution list. We can populate the list with the Huskerboard email addresses. If someone "retires", it makes it easy to manage.

4. You have the option of using the Huskerboard address as either a catch-net for any email addresses you want, or send emails to you Huskerboard address to another email address. There is a forwarding option in the account, and most other email systems have something similar.

So, is anyone interested?

Good deal. I've sent Dave Stahr and email just to give him a heads-up. I want to wait until all of us (the active folks) have an opportunity to weigh in so that if we do it, I can give Dave a list. He can then set them all up with a common temp password that each user can change once they log on. I can post the details for log-in (URL, temp password) here. Once it's done, you can then set up forwarding if you want - other accounts to Huskerboard email, Huskerboard email to other accounts, etc. Or simply have an additional browser window open to the Huskerboard account.

So who is left? Just 'addict? To hell with him - damn kids have the attention span of gnats these days. I'll have Dave create the accounts for everyone this weekend - including 'addict.

Okay, I've contacted Dave and asked him to set up the accounts. I don't know whether he'll get to it before Monday, but regardless I'll let you know as things progress. I suggested to him that he use a common temp password for all the accounts. That way, I can post the URL and the password, then you can set your own password on the account once you log in for the first time. There will be some other details as well. Just wanted to keep everyone updated.

 
I can't wait to get to knapplc's first and change it to knappIc and then change mine to knapplc so that then knapp has to pay me to get knapplc@huskerboard.com because he's probably OCD about being knapplc everywhere.
