New Video Sidebar

You may have noticed that we have a new video feed on the right sidebar, immediately above the member status updates. This is from a new vendor, NuLion. What makes this different from our previous vendor/video feed is that the content is strictly Nebraska athletics video content, produced by the athletic department. It not only gives us content exclusive to Nebraska Athletics, but also a share of revenue generated from pre-roll ads running through the player.

The content is from the nulion block.

Are we getting a flat fee or is it dependent on how many videos - and thus ads - are viewed? Just curious.

The agreement is that we get 20% of all ad revenue generated by ads displayed on the site. So, it's a case of clicking on the videos. No click-throughs on the ads - just click a video, the short ad plays, and that's a hit.

Sounds good. I was just wondering if we need to "encourage" people to actual watch some of the videos to help out or are we just seeing how it works out for now? Either way, great idea.

Definitely want to encourage them. And with the videos for basketball being topical, I think we'll get a few hits.
