The 9+ win thing is really the only thing that's comparable between the two.

Bo doesn't have the top 10 finishes, major bowl appearances (and wins), conference titles, ect. that TO had in his first 6-7 years.

9 wins is something totally different these days. So, the one comparable thing isn't all that comparable in the first place.

 
Ummm......I think the thread was actually discussing TO's lack of conference titles in his early tenure. Although it's still tough to compare since TO took over a team that had won back to back national titles.

2 conference titles in 6 years is pretty good. Yes, I realize they were shared. But TO, and the university, still gets credited for them.

Also, TO was a huge part of those national titles. Probably why he was chosen to be Devany's successor.
