Big Ten writers pick Nebraska to finish third in the West Division

God, just seeing all those teams put together. Our division is weak, are only chances of playing UM or tOSU is if (when) we make the CCG. When do we catch any of these teams in regular season play?

 
Third sounds about right, honestly. Wisconsin and Iowa have cake schedules and Nebraska draws Michigan State. We lose that one, we're pretty much destined for third unless Wiscy or Iowa completely tanks.

 
It's a preseason poll so the only thing the media can really go off of is the schedule for each team. We seem to have drawn the toughest schedule out of three contenders in the West, so we end up being picked third.

I'm not surprised, nor do I give a sh#t.

Less July/August and more October/November, please.

 
Not really a surprise coming from outsiders. The way we finished the conference schedule it's hard to pick us as stronger than Iowa or Wisconsin.

This team will have to earn respect. I expect them to earn that and more this year.

 
I'm fine with this. I'd rather be a bit of a dark horse and surprise people. That's more fun than meeting or falling short of expectations. If we can get some good quarterbacking and avoid catastrophe on special teams I think we'll be the best team in the division. That doesn't mean we'll win it, of course, our schedule does us no favors compared to Wisky and Iowa.
