I hope so. I'd like nothing more than our starting. QB to bring more than just confidence and supposed leadership to the table. Consistently making plays and not being a turnover machine would be great.

At this point I think your concerns are sufficiently documented. Why not give him some time to develop and see what becomes of him? If he's still making all these mistakes in the middle of his Junior year after 20+ starts, blast away.

Clearly you realize Bo Pelini has had more than enough time to refine his craft, right? Some people are getting impatient with the lack of improvement, and that's okay, because for the most part people gave him time, lots of time.

You giving Armstrong no time to improve in response to people being critical of Pelini after 7 years is kind of ridiculous, don't you think? Wouldn't a more appropriate and less hypocritical action simply be to block the posters you're getting worked up about?

Second, this is Bo's first head coaching gig, so maybe with the staff turnover and switching of conferences, he's due more time. Third, his record cements the thought that he's due more time. He's winning, a lot actually, if you compare him to his peers. He just hasn't quite gotten over the hump.
We don't have time to fool with a player that just isn't very good at a crucial position. We need championships,and need them now. He's had his shot, it's time to get off the pot.

So a seven-year head coach deserves more time, but a quarterback who was thrown into the fire and with less than a full year of being the starter doesn't? Wow, I really don't know what to say.

I'm sure you've said this somewhere else - but who do you think should get the starts instead of TA?

I think Bo needed some time to adjust to the conference change there was a big contrast between the Big 12 and The B1G. It is time for Bo to show he has the ship going with all sails the same direction. As far as Armstrong, we need to give him some slack through fall camp and maybe even the first couple games, but after that if he is still struggling with reads and making poor choices then I think we better move on. I for one think Armstrong will have a great year, but we will find out by the end of the season I guess.

I just find it hypocritical that fans demand a conference championship from a coach, yet they expect him to win it with sub par QB play. Those same fans demanding the championship from the coach are willing to give another "underachiever" time work out the kinks, but won't afford the coach (who has had success) time to work out the kinks.
Unfortunately, Armstrong is our best option now, but if I'm looking at upside and want to build for the future, I think that Stanton is the guy.

um... bo is responsible for personnel. and to say armstrong is an underachiever (at 7-1) is extremely unfair. he had a truncated season with all the problems of the team that made bo's 4 losses ok. i think it is hard to even say armstrong has had a chance to prove himself.

that is a bold take. but taylor was the qb for two of the losses. and he had both legs for both of them. although he was obviously injured and not terribly effective. also, armstong was able to beat georgia.

Running threat with 1 legged TM was just slightly better than the TA/RKIII combo.
