It's going to happen at some point soon. Or maybe it won't happen on the same day. There are a lot of good matchups this week. Could shake up the polls. Who do you like?
The order is from kickoff times, early to late.
#6 Texas A&M at #12 Miss State
#3 Alabama at #11 Ole Miss
#4 Oklahoma at #25 TCU
#7 Baylor at Texas
Utah at #8 UCLA
#14 Stanford at #9 Notre Dame
#17 Wisconsin at Northwestern
#15 LSU at #5 Auburn
Arizona State at #16 USC
#19 Nebraska at #10 Michigan
#20 Ohio State at Maryland
Texas Tech at #23 Kansas State
The first game is a toss up. I like what Miss State did to LSU on the road, which is never easy to do. So I'm leaning towards them. I like their QB, the running game, and their rush defense. But they're not doing well on pass defense, and A&M will throw it often. Should be a fun game.
I'm not sure what to think about Bama/Ole Miss. Could be close, a blowout, or upset. Who knows...
I like TCU at home to pull of the upset. They have the talent, speed, a very good defense, a new OC with an up tempo offense. OU has a very good run defense too, and their offense is high powered again. I think the biggest key to win for TCU will depend on how Boykin (QB) plays. If the offense can put up points early and maintain momentum, the defense should be good enough to give them a chance. They won't feel intimidated. They usually play OU tough. Should be a dog fight.
Baylor should handle Texas.
Utah is a competitive team. But not enough against the Bruins.
I like Stanford to beat Notre Dame.
I like Auburn to win. I think they are slightly better than Bama.
Northwestern will either have a let down after Penn State or use that momentum to challenge the Badgers?
I don't know what to think of USC. They gave up 62 to ASU last year and then Kiffin got fired. Maybe this will be a revenge game for them.
I think Maryland could make it a close game against OSU for awhile. They are playing well, it's a night game at home, and they are wearing some funky uniforms.
