So serious question, why do we come in and offer a kid like this so late? Do we have some info that he could be interested, or is an ego stroke, seems pointless if we don't have info that we have a chance

Because there is no chance of him coming here unless there is an offer. What does it hurt other than a postage stamp?

I don't have an answer to that other than to say the vast majority of the time we've been working on guys for months before we offer them so we might not be as late as it looks like.

 
Visiting Wake Forest, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and probably Alabama. Miami, Ole Miss and Georgia are other considerations.
