You are a bad fan

I'm a horrible fan, because I miss this team beating the a$$ off of everyone, running for 300+ yards every game, and not having to hate the OC because he's a dumb a$$...

And if you don't like that, f*ck you all in your f*cking stupid c0ck holsters...

#1 - No Flaming/Trolling/Defamatory posts

There is absolutely no reason to verbally attack another user (aka flaming), and/or posting a message for the express purpose of generating a negative response (trolling).

Also:

#11 - Moderators

Please respect the moderators. They offer their services free of charge, and work hard to keep the board clean and organized. The mods reserve the right to enforce the rules in any manner they see fit.

We discussed that report. The decision was made to approach you about the situation and gauge your actual intent. I did. I had to encourage you to respond - you initially ignored my request for clarification - and the conversation went as it did.

We're not stupid. Most of us have been moderating this board for going on five years. We know what we're doing.

And again - I strongly encourage you to take this up with an Admin rather than bicker about it on the forums.
my actual intent? a rule was broken. i was called a jerk. why should i have to determine the punishment? whatever is standard when someone calls someone else a jerk. my intent was to bring to your attention that someone called me a jerk. what other intent could there be?

oh, and we all already knew mods enforce the rules however they see fit.

There seems to be some general confusion over the use of the report feature as well as what we do with them.

The moderators don't have eyes on everything, so it's a greatly appreciate when members alert us to things that need addressing. All reports are reviewed, but understand that we don't always have the same opinion of what needs addressing and what doesn't.

In particular, oftentimes members seem to desire mainly for the moderators to mete out punishment to users who have offended them. That's not what we do.

We do use everything at our disposal - whether it's warnings, suspensions, post approval, verbal notices - to let people know when they're doing something that's not OK. Repeat and egregious offenders eventually run into enough trouble to merit a permanent ban, but we go to great lengths to avoid this. Perhaps too great, at times, but really I'd like to see everyone stay a part of this community.

Everyone can do their part first and foremost by being civil to one another, by helping us flag down offending posts if they see them, and finally, by understanding moderators are here to make sure members understand conduct policy, not to serve as an internet justice system.

Huskerboard has always relied on a mostly

community-minded membership that self-moderates and treats our site as a shared resource, not a recess playground.

If we banned everyone who annoyed other people this would be a recipe forum, of which Roxy15 would be the sole member.
Roxy is probably just a sock puppet for Polo when he wants a change of pace, actually. If Polo posted recipes under his own name, some dumbass would turn it into a 2 page argument over teaspoon to tablespoon conversions or some such nonsense.

They shouldn't have to, the negativity is getting old polo, we get complaints daily on it, is what it is and that's the elephant in the room. I have no doubt you love Nebraska, no question there, but to constantly spin everything to a negative place gets old. Even if we somehow win the B1G this year, I know you don't think we will, end up in the playoffs, I know you don't think we will, and somehow win the national championship, I doubt you change your tune. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise. Being critical is one thing, being negative about everything is quite another.
Instead of everyone putting him on ignore.. can you just ban him?
He is clearly trolling at this point.
For someone who ignores me and hates me, you sure have quite the opinion on my recent posts and bring me up a lot.
It wouldn't be really hard to guess when you post. Just follow the conversation and when multiple posters start arguing with what seems like the same guy, you would have your answer on who it probably is.

I don't mind your "trolling" as it makes for good entertainment and liveliness but does get irritating that you do it in EVERY thread.

Except I don't post in every thread.

Every thread you post in?

Perhaps, just perhaps, they should do all those things before I change my tune. I'm at the point of "show me" because they haven't earned anything otherwise (something our dearly departed mod has also said)

And why is everyone mad right now? Because i don't think there's as much sec bias as everyone else? Because I posted an article illustrating why the big ten is down? What so either of those have with Bo Pelini? I'll tell you, zero. Which is why I didn't bring him up. Knapplc, a mod, brought up my agenda in that thread and went off topic, so I made a Bo joke. Then HTO started in with whatever the blue hell he was talking about, also off topic and nitpicky as hell, as if a typo can dispute an entire article I didn't write.

And you know what I think gets old? The constant, unending personal attacks and swipes at my intelligence when I disagree. I've had my wife called into question, my attitude, what kind of person I am, basically anything's fair game. Hell, I saw sd'sker get called a jerk and seemingly nothing happened there either. Why? Because we don't have unending optimism about the team it's coach? Because we are dissenters? That's not healthy. At all.
I really think it's because you have Nick Offerman as your avatar.

Polo's posts are broken records, but maybe it's important to understand why they are broken records. What has Nebraska done to change the perception? What has the Big Ten done to reverse the SEC dominance?

Nothing. Year in, year out, it's the same.

Now, we're 8-1, but some believe that our 8 wins are a product of our weak schedule and the one team in the loss column just happens to be the only ranked team we've faced. That team owned us in every aspect of the game for 3 quarters; it wasn't as close as the score indicated, despite the gutsy, near miraculous comeback Nebraska is so prone to having. We have a chance to make a few statements in the next few weeks. Wisconsin will be ranked, and they have been playing really well lately (but perhaps that's a product of their even weaker schedule). Minnesota is just annihilating Iowa, and they may be ranked when they come to Lincoln. Iowa...well...they've looked good, and they've looked bad. Kind of a Northwestern type of game. Win all three of those games, and there should be no reason for anyone to hate on this team (after all, we will have reversed the trend of 4 losses a year, which by the way, one more win and we can't do any worse than 4 losses

)

Until then, all the criticism is warranted, whether you want to believe it or not. Although some perspective is needed. As much as I want Nebraska to be located in the hotbed of recruits and in the SEC, we aren't. So recruiting is just naturally more difficult for us. There's no getting around that. As much as I want Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Iowa to all be good, like the teams in the Big XII or the SEC, they aren't. Not yet. But college football is cyclical, it won't be long before the Big Ten is good again.

All Nebraska can control, is whether they beat the team placed in front of them. So far, we've done a solid job in doing that. And I'm sure we all hope that that continues well into the next few months.
