Rumored NU position coach Brent Brennan - Stayed at OSU

If I remember correctly, the statement about resources had two parts. The first being that he was fortunate that resources were not an issue at NEB, the second part being that it was his job to be a good steward of those resources. In hindsight, we probably should have paid a little more attention to the second part of the statement.

 
As of yesterday afternoon, he hadn't told his WRs at OSU that he was leaving. All the other coaches had done that.

With several other reports of four assistants from OSU, it doesn't sound like he's coming.

WTF? How do you know he is set to ultimately stay in Corvallis? He is from California. Maybe he is waiting to see if something happens that direction. Maybe his family doesn't want to move to the Midwest. maybe he is going to try to become the OC or HC at OSU. C'mon.

Then, Riley needs to put on his big boy pants and hard sell him. Recruiting is part of his job.
 
Looking at his profile, he has never lived anywhere but the west coast and hawaii. Maybe he's like chris petersen and doesn't want to leave the west coast.

 
It's probably an opportunity thing. It might be promotion time for him -- plus, it'd be a good chance for him to get out of Riley's shadow and get some experience elsewhere.

We would've been very lucky to pluck the best up-and-comer from Riley's staff. Still holding out hope, but probably not...

You are exactly right. It's mind-boggling how unrealistic some of our fans are right now. They honestly feel that NU can get whoever we want on our coaching staff. That's now how things work. Look at Riley...he turned down a good USC program on multiple occasions, and it was a personal decision. If Brennan doesn't want to come here, that's his decision.
