OWH: Bo Pelini insults A.D. Shawn Eichorst in expletive-filled rant during final meeting with players

If I went over the head of my immediate supervisor to the head boss and demanded my immediate supervisor be fired - I wonder what would happen?
I think Pelini wanted to get out of here, but he also wanted to keep the contract extension money and raise that Eichorst gave him not too long ago...but he can't do both if he quits...right?...

...but if Pelini gets fired, he's home free and back to Ohio and he keeps getting those paychecks Eichorst promised for the next 51 months. But how to go about getting fired? Would getting into the face of one or two Regents do that? Apparently yes.

I would bet Pelini will have a bigger smile on his face cashing those NU checks than Eichorst will have when he is signing them!

Fellas, I think NU was played.

Could a lawyer argue that in doing so, Pelini in essence quit, voiding his contract? It's almost like suicide-by-cop.

We have now reached the point where Bo acted like Jesus. Wow. You should be ashamed quoting scripture like that.
Actually, I just finished up leading chapel at a homeless shelter, so I'm pretty confident with my scripture...

...and the whooshing sound you heard when you were reading my post was the point being made flying right over your head.

The point is that there are different types of anger, not only "lashing out at adversity". Do you think Christ felt powerless and was lashing out, or was he compelled to correct the situation when he found it? Do you think only Pelini and Homer Simpson types get mad?

I knew when I made this post that someone would fall all over themselves with the "Pelini = Jesus Christ" retort and think it was deep thinking on his part to point it out. You're that guy.
Sure you did...

And I knew you would come back with a holier than thou response. You see people that quote scripture out of context in a conversation generally don't actually know what they are talking about.

Your reasoning, if I'm following, is that all people get angry. True. The difference in an honorable man and the reaction we saw today is in how you carry yourself when confronted with the offending party. I don't want to get into the religious debate here, because it is irrelevant to the situation at hand. Which is why it never should have been brought up.

Everyone should thank Bo for turning the program back in the right direction from the pederson-callahan debacle instead of bashing him.
We owe Pelini a lot less than he owes us. We gave him far more than his ability, experience, and character deserved.
Yeah, I guess turning around a bad team, no cheating, graduating players, having players love him doesn't deserve a simple thanks or good luck. Or at least not a ripping.
I guessing you don't follow Scott Shanle on twitter
You mean the Scott Shanle who never played for Pelini? Yes and I do follow nate gerry, michael rose, valentine, finnin, Rex Burkhead, etc....... who actually played for him and all said Pelini was the best coach they've ever had.
I would certainly hope their coach at the highest level they've played, would be the best coach they've had.
exactly. that is what i always think.
and how many college coaches are not held in high esteem by their players? they have to trust that person. and everything that person says is gospel, regardless of how bizarre it is to the outside. also, bo especially seemed to be more buddy/brother than coach/leader.
you know ive preached the "too much father figure/freind, not enough coach" sentiment numerous times before. Even when i was a hardcore Bo defender, i thought this was an issue. Hell, he admitted to it. He gets too close to his guys. And that creates a high level of toxidity in a high pressure and corporate environment. FCS is the place for this guy. Clear as day now.

After listening to Bo's speech to the players, I can't blame him for seeing it the way he saw it. Eichorst has hid in his office it seems, Perlman's puppet, while the football team has been in the dark on if they would be retained or not.

Bo shouldn't have tried to make the players worried about the future or put fear in their minds too about the future.

After all of it though I still respect Bo more than Eichorst and Perlman.

Hope you didn't eat spaghetti.

I don't know. Looking at this now, yes, I'm glad we parted ways with Bo. But I don't like Eichorst regardless if he had security or not. Just listening to him, things I've read about him, don't like the guy.
That's how I always make my conclusions about people too.
Elaborate on what you've read which makes you dislike him, energy vampire.
No.

Okay, let me rephrase that for your Moraine. I don't like him as our AD. I'm sure he's a nice guy.
what has he done as AD that you do not like?

he seems to keep a low profile. which is neither good nor bad. but i find it preferable and he warned us that that is who he is. none of the other coaches seems to have a problem with him. he made the courageous decision to fire a coach that had no business leading young men, and quickly replaced him with one of the most respected coaches in the nation.

the only reason people have not to like him is from bo's complaints. but, bo is a man fraught with paranoia and perceived persecutors, but not much integrity.

You're a Youngstown State fan? Why would you post a link to that?

He wants the Bo fans to follow Bo instead of being annoying here.
