How does an A.D. "support" a football program?

I never said that. Clearly, however, Bo is under the impression that he rarely saw, spoke to or had meaningful discussions with his boss. The athletic department is a large corporation, in essence, so it makes sense that SE has a lot to look over and can't have BP up in his office every day.

But, the Nebraska football coach is without question, argument or debate the most important coach in this athletic department. There's no reason that coach should ever feel that you're not directly communicating with him regularly.

It's possible that I just think philosophically different than SE in terms of management, and I respect different management styles. But, even if I don't like the most important person in my organization, I'm still going to ensure they feel I'm paying attention to them and having regular communication.

Just a guess here, but I'm gonna bet that Eichorst and Riley will speak quite a bit more than Bo and Eichorst did.

There's just something more pleasant about conversating with a nice person who is capable of having a conversation versus trying to conversate with an arrogant a-hole that drops an "at the end of the day" every other word out of his mouth.

I'm sure Bo received regular communication via email.

If Bo wanted to talk to Eichorst, it would have happened. Bo did not complain that he was hard to reach.

He claimed he wasn't given a specific ultimatum. And he took some cheap shots to paint the AD as not a people person and not warm enough to him or the players. If SE had been a hovering presence, all that would have changed would have been Bo's lines.

Bo just likes pointing fingers and making sh#t up. He had to blame others for his failures. We all know Bo is all about pointing the finger and not the thumb regardless of what he says. Where was the thumb pointing in the audio leaks? Zilch Zippo zero. The guy is a douche

I think Eichorst went and got a coach he wouldn't have to hold hands with, and that's going to change the whole dynamic. Bo's bitching and complaining about admin not being available is one of the more pathetic (but certainly not the most pathetic) aspect of his guns-a-blazing farewell speech. What is it exactly that he wants the AD to do for him? Money? Check. Top shelf facilities? Check. Full authority to dismiss and hire assistant coaches? Check. Overlook unprofessional behavior that would get almost anyone else in another profession fired? Check. Massive recruiting budget and annual upgrades to the operation? Check.

The only consistent thing about Pelini is that he consistently rationalized his own failures while espousing a hollow philosophy of accountability, high standards, and individual responsibility.

Yeah, my whole problem with Bo's grief is, does he in any way appear to be the type of person that wants a superior looking over his shoulder all the time? Cuz with everything he's been given, he's hinting that that's all thats really missing.

Its similar to the days of the cowboy coming to an end. Those of us who actually played football understand he's just a football coach being a coach. I take responses like these as people who never likely never played the game nor understand it at the lowest form. Just my personal opinion. You are do quick to say he yells because he is an idiot? Wow I figured out was because he wants to win and knows how much work everyone has put into preparing to win that it makes him mad when the plan isn't executed and the team doesn't win or make a play. That's what I learned from my coach of football anyways.IMO IMO

I've had coaches who yelled and coaches who didn't yell. There are loads of successful college coaches who don't get in their players' faces and scream at them during games. In the games where Pelini melted down and screamed, how often did Nebraska end up winning the game? And what happened when he yelled at referees? Normally he got more penalties. His yelling rarely resulted in something good happening for his team. If it had actually worked, I would be more forgiving.

If a "real man" were to say goodbye to his team after being fired, the speech would look a lot different than Bo Pelinis.

Yea because we didn't see 20 other coaches curse and yell at players on the sidelines this year did we. But since a couple of them had more wins then Bo it was ok and it was ok because the rest had worse records then Bo.

I guess I didn't disagree with anything he said. The yekking is wrong movement is being pushed by the same crowd that promotes the first place for every kid bullsh#t. Just my opinion.
