@schadjoe: Ohio State plans to add former Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck to staff after the playoff championship game.

@schadjoe: Tim Beck is expected to replace Tim Herman, who will become Houston head coach.

He is going there to be co-offensive coordinator and QB coach. I wonder if he was actually held back here on what he wanted to do. I have read some thing that state he was but nothing real concrete.

The silence from all the experts on here is hilarious. Beck is terrible and will be lucky to find a job. Lol!
well given this thread is only about 30 min old on a sunday morning, the silence is probably more due to lack of views.

but good for beck and wish him well in every game but one or two games a year.

Reminds me of when Urban Meyer covered our game against Michigan in 2011. Beck called a handoff to Burkhead who then ran a power option with Abdullah. He pitched it to Abdullah for a TD and Meyer just raved about the call. Beck did have those moments (ie the pass to Alex Lewis), but he also had a lot of moments where he out-thought himself and went away from a working game plan.

Gimmicks only take you so far. I'll take a simple, well structured system over a gimmick offense any day.

Tim Beck would have been considered a brilliant OC in Lincoln with Ohio State's athletes.
We had some pretty solid athletes here though. Didn't have depth, but that was partly his fault, right? After all, he was the lead recruiter on offense. He was essentially running the show on that side of the ball since 2011.
