The times it doesn't happen should be given equal amount of documentation. Then we wouldn't sit here and pretend every SEC player with money in his hands got it in some sort of rules violation.

Maybe he did maybe he didn't, but it seems like quite a jump to just assume SEC player + picture of money = illegal exchange of money between player and school.

Things are changing in the college football world, maybe the field will be leveled a bit.

 
I don't have cable, so I don't watch ESPN or any other SEC propaganda, so while I'm aware of some of the shady dealings down there, I don't think it's limited to the SEC and I'm not full of pure hatred for that conference. I loved seeing them get beat out of playing for a national title this year and I hope that continues.

I'm definitely not one to defend the conference much either.

I think this is the one where the recruit then stated it was money given by family/relatives for his birthday, which would make for a serious case of bad timing, if true. Or was that another one?

You are correct. Irvin posted later a relative gave him this money as a graduation present. This will be accepted as a legitimate source of the money by those who want to see it as such, and not by those who don't. I am in the latter.

You are correct. Irvin posted later a relative gave him this money as a graduation present. This will be accepted as a legitimate source of the money by those who want to see it as such, and not by those who don't. I am in the latter.

a graduation present? In January? Correct me if i am wrong, but aren't most graduations at the end of May and not the end of January?

Or a grand (or so) in cash? You'd think most relatives would just write check instead of going to the bank to get some freshly printed $20s.
