WALK-ONS THREAD

We offered a walk-on spot to Kansas City Rockhurst QB TJ Green, son of former NFL QB Trent Green. His best other offer is a grayshirt to Wake Forest.

Langsdorf was at the school yesterday checking in on him and some 2016 guys.

Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf was in Kansas City Monday to see T.J. Green, a 6-foot-1, 185-pounder. He offered a walk-on spot. Rockhurst coach Tony Severino -- who has sent Michael Rose and Zach Hannon to Nebraska in recent years -- said T.J. Green will consider the offer along with a grayshirt offer from Wake Forest. Green has turned down several FCS offers, including one to North Dakota State, which just won another FCS title.

"He can make all the throws you want to make," Severino said. "And he can run Mike Riley's offense."
More importantly, Severino said, he thinks Green will grow.
His dad -- a standout at Indiana before playing in the NFL -- was 6-foot-3, 205 pounds during his NFL career. T.J. Green is smaller, but should only be a junior in age, Severino said. T.J. Green has big hands and size 14 feet, Severino said, so there's probably room to grow. T.J. Green threw for 2,638 yards and 33 touchdowns as a senior and was Gatorade Player of the Year in Missouri.

"He can spell 'Nebraska' so you know he's smart enough to go there," Severino quipped.

Severino added that Nebraska has a strong academics program.

Seems a little contradictory

Green has walk-on offers from Stanford and Northwestern. Visited those places the last two weeks. Prefers one of the three walk-on offers to the grayshirt at Wake. Has a USA Football game in Dallas on Saturday so he's trying to figure out if he can visit Lincoln or not.

Being a walk-on, I would guess there is no rush to get to Lincoln this weekend before NSD.

Albion (Neb) Boone Central/Newman Grove ATH Wyatt Mazour (@WMazour20) has been offered a walk-on spot by the #Huskers

Runs a 4.4 in the 40 - is 5'8" and 190 lbs.
Best player in Class C this year. Could be best in Class B also.

One of my wife's co-workers has a son that got asked to walk-on at NU...Noah Johnson from Sutton. He led the state in rushing with almost 2900 yds. Very good athlete
