SIGNED - DE Daishon Neal

Neal said Michigan came in and said that if it wasn't for football, he wouldn't get into Michigan. Neal felt like they were calling him poor and dumb. That ended the wolverines chances. According to his dad Michigan was basically escorted out of his home after that statement.

Wow....that is an impressive recruiting tactic.

Listen very carefully to the attitude instate recruits have about how our staff has recruited them. That has to change and I think Riley will attempt to make that happen.

No, I'm not saying every above average kid in Nebraska should get a scholarship offer. But, the really good ones, should feel like they are really wanted.

I'm guessing he described as an opportunity and most likely it worked for a number of recruits... It would appear that Daishon is smarter than they thought by reading between the lines.

It seems to me like he was trying to say that Michigan was a great academic school and Daishon's grades were not good enough to merit entry. Fortunately, through football, he could have access to that level of education. I understand it was not taken that way but I doubt that Mattison would shove his foot that far in his mouth. This is not his first rodeo.

edit: huskerhill beat me to it. Darn my slow fingers...
