The BoLeavers vs. The Bolievers

I posted this in another thread, but it fully explains why our defense is as putrid as it is.. Another of 408's recruits that Banker has to work with.

Speed kills, molasses is well, just molasses!
You coach what you've got. If McMullen is too slow for DE, move him. You're the DC, you have that option, right? Obviously Banker sees no problems there. That's a coaching problem. Your Bo hatred has reached obsessive levels and counseling seems needed.

I'm still not sure where all the worship for MSU's defense comes from, Beck's offense made it look pretty porous when we didn't kill ourselves with penalties and stupid turnovers. If we start leaking out lots of run yardage in conference play I'm not sure patience will be enough.
I have no obsession, just pointing out why we are in the situation that he left us in. They are his players, Banker is trying to make the most of it.

If you move him, who is the replacement, your suggestions please.
Bo's players are in Youngstown. These are now Bankers players if he is the coach. The blanket excuse of "no talent" is weak. Experienced coaches should be able to compensate for the troubles we are having. Wasn't that the knock on Bo? Inability to adjust the defense to the run? If over 1500yds passing in 4 games is "the most of it" we'll probably be helping the rest of the B1G pad their passing stats.
As a former player tweeted, "you can't judge Riley's meal made with 408's grocery's. As much as many of you bolievers want to bash the current staff, They have to try to put a competitive team on the field with what they got until they can recruit better talent.

I will answer the question I posed to Rex, there is nobody else because in the last 4 years, 408 was lazy and didn't bring in anybody better. We play with what we got.
Oh crap... what does one do when confronted with the infinite collection of wisdom known as Twitter? And yeah, you did spell groceries wrong. Might get back with Shanle and see which one of you pooched that one.

Recruiting was hardly lazy.

That's just ...your angst bubbling over. Why would MR go to such lengths to save garbage recruits that won't fit the system? Doesn't seem like something a smart coach would do. Maybe you should tweet MR and clue him in. Better yet tweet the whole Def. Line and let them know that you and Shanle have determined that they lack any talent and might just be better off moving on down the road so the genius of Banker can shine through?

Nice that you use twitter as a straw man to get away from the subject. Never said all of his recruits were bad, but Riley and Langsdorf did do one smart thing a toss the qb from Texas that was playing JV ball. Looks like the qb they have recruited this year is a stud. But back to some substance. You are right that Riley busted his a$$ to save the class with what little time he had to do it. If you remember, 408 lost most of the top 10 class that Callahan had put together before he was fired, a little effort from him and he would have at least had one more year of Callahan recruits to lean on.

Keep it coming, I got all night!

Wassup with this thread? I didn't start this???
It looks like one of your posts got moved into its own thread. So as not to derail yet another discussion thread in the football forum. (That's what I would guess happened.) If that's what happened, it seems like a good compromise to me. Your discussion can be carried on here. And the other thread's discussion can continue on its way. Carry on.

I said it after the players meeting. We're gonna find out-and in my opinion on mentality, we are after 4 games-the Bo did a hell of a lot more damage to this program then Callahan and Pedersen ever dreamed of. Riley's job these first couple years is a hell of a lot hard than anything Bo had to deal with.
I think this is unbelievably overblown and sometimes comical.

You've always thought that and you've been given more than enough evidence to prove that you're wrong QMany. You choose to ignore the evidence. That's your own problem. Find it comical all you want, you're wrong.

What evidence are you speaking of?

Despite Mike Riley saying it wasn't a problem, 2-2 apologists want to blame some phantom mentality that Bo instilled. I'm talking about these kinds of conspiracies: "After watching again, its a significant point to keep in mind that McMullen went and visited Bo prior to spri g." Like JJHusker1 said, " I think might be trying a little too hard to connect his poor play to Bo."

Bo installed nanobots in their heads to maintain his evil powers of control over them. It's obviously working, as any of the guys that started last year have all of a sudden lost their talent. Bo controlling them from afar is the only logical answer. This new coaching staff is too experienced and successful for it to be a dropoff in coaching. Unpossible.

Riley literally talked about it specifically today.

I'm not blaming Bo for us being 2-2 dumbass, I never said that. I blame Bo for some of the mentality issues on the team, especially when things go wrong. Alex Lewis showed it a bit in his Twitter spat with some dumbass fan, and the team shows they can still allow themselves to unravel and breakdown fairly easily. When it does it tends to snowball.

Riley mentioned it today specifically in his press conference. He said it is and will be a focus for their staff going down the road.

Those tendencies remind me of their ex-HC very much. Heck yeah I blame Bo for some of the mental weakness on this team. I blame a Hail Mary and an interception in OT for being 2-2.

I wouldn't expect Mike Riley to go on record saying that the previous coach left the team in a bad "mental state" if you will. But there is no denying that he was brought in to create a less volatile and chaotic atmosphere to the football team.

And I think it's not a far stretch to think that maybe some players are dogging it a little because they don't appreciate how they are being utilized in the new systems compared to the old.

.

There are other examples too, and I gave QMany a long list of em way back when we had this argument months ago. I'm not listing them all again. Especially when one of the idiots arguing with my point is talking about nanobots installed in people heads.

Some guys might be being held accountable and being asked to work a little harder in the weight room and on the field, and they might be a little upset about it.

We've still got some cleansing to do and truthfully, we need some guys to graduate and some new guys to step up and bring a bit of a fiercer mentality to this team. There's some entitlement and some don't give a f#*k left over on this team yet.
