Four games into the season and already a coach "has to go" at the end of the season.OSU fans begged for years from Banker to be fired. Instead, we gave him a chance of scenery and a hefty payraise. I knew this was going to be an issue when we first hired him. I'm sure Riley talked to him and said, "OK Mark, I'm giving you a chance -- don't make me look bad" and Banker pretty much assured him that he wouldn't. However, you can't make a bad coach a good coach overnight, and his lack of coaching skills are apparent. It was chivalrous and loyal of Riley to give his buddy an opportunity, but the experiment has failed and must be remedied at the end of the season, no excuses.
I understood from the start that this was probably going to be a work in progress and that this season could get ugly.
If you want a top team, then you have to have top recruits. We haven't had that in a while. Past poor recruiting classes are not the fault of this staff.
