Sunshine Kool-Aid Drinkers, Thanks for Helping Kill This Program

Maybe Tony Dungy will come out of retirement and save Nebraska. He does have great respect for our program even Jon Gruden has great respect for Nebraska. Maybe we lure him away from ESPN. Money talks and Nebraska's great tradition still lives on with many people. Our so called fans are content with mediocrity it is heartbreaking.
We aren't content with mediocrity. That's why we fired Solich. That's why we fired Callahan. That's why we fired Pelini. Have we risen above that mediocre title since? So do tell, what good with firing a coach after one year do for the program?

Don't confuse patience with a desire to be mediocre. Nobody wants that and it's on you if you think people who are wanting to be patient with Mike Riley are content with being average despite them saying they're not.

I'm not going to read through multiple paragraphs of a post. We hired a career .500 coach. This is the result. Lets call a spade a spade. Michigan and Florida hired proven coaches who have won and did big things. Harbaugh turned Stanford around, took the 49ers to a SB. McElwain completely turned around CSU. Quick, give me a time Riley and his buddies did something great that stands out on his resume.
Beat #1 USC.
Wow was that when Oregon State won the Pac-10? And that happened nearly a decade ago before he became a washout. They won a few division titles and beat Oregon a lot too.
Hey you asked me to do something that stands out on his resume. You can't move the goalposts because it's convenient.

Gruden coming here: That is the most ridiculous thought I've ever seen on a message board. Coach football again or sit in a booth on Monday night for about 4 million a year.

It doesn't stand out to me because he's a .500 career coach and that's a fact. So what... we upset top ranked Sparty but finish 3-9 and that's a good year for you?

Actually it's more realistic than you think. People close to him have said he is ready now more than ever to get back to coaching but the right opportunity has to come. How many storied programs like Nebraska are there? Nebraska can afford a big splash hire.

Oh, so the whole point was for me to label something only for you to push it aside like it wasn't impressive? Got it.

WHO would come to Lincoln at this point? Seriously, who? We aren't who we used to be. We don't intimidate our new opponents, they didn't worry about us from 1970 - 1994, they certainly aren't worried in 2015. We are who we are. Get used to it.

Actually., for many of our "fans" they were cool with that as long as meany face wasn't our coach.

I heard Belichek is coming to Nebraska next year!

Yeah...he's retiring and wants to get as far away from organized football as possible.

Don't look now but Rutgers is tied with Michigan State. As it turns out, you have to play every game, they all count and have 60 minutes of football. Rutgers. Beating MSU.
