Eichorst says contract extension is premature/irrelevant

Wow...impressive. He is pretty smart to come out with that. And like the post above, it was nice seeing him on the sideline and in the locker room. I hope things continue to go up from here!

Yes, they were presenting an award to a military guy and Eichorst's name brought loud round of boos. You felt a little bad for the recipient but I'm sure he knew what was up.

I'm not going to go out of my way to blow Eichorst for this comment. He knows a new Chancellor is on the way. I do give credit for not talking a new contract until the new Chancellor comes on board.

Eichorst is at least smart enough to know that Perlman won't be able to shield him in a few months, so better to cozy up to the fans now and save his bacon by saying the right things instead of really being screwed when Harvey is done.

 
Wish he'd created this atmosphere for the team last year and the year before.

Don't think for a second that this move on the contract issue isn't in response to pressure from above Perly.

 
Got to agree with Eichrost on this one. Leadership needs to be on the same page for success. Maybe they are, but it takes more than 10 games to determine. Extending his contract now would just allow status quo, which has yet to be determined successful or not.

Truly, this may just be a platitude to Husker Nation, but I am not going to read too much into it.
