It is amazing what a little "buy in" from the players will do to change your season around. The coaches have busted their a$$ to coach these guys, but until they finally decided that they wanted to be coached, we looked like dog crap on the field. Those that demanded the coaches be fired should feel ashamed, but I know you won't, too many brain cells missing.

Well, it was not solely the players. Langsdorf did call that pass play on a 3rd down at Illinois that everyone thought was a pass play even though Langsdorf said it was supposed to be a run play. Yes, the players are now finally buying in but the coaches and players are to blame not one or the other. The coach is supposed to get his team to buy in right away, but that didn't happen until a few weeks ago like it is stated above. It is a transition year, next year everyone will be bought in and we will see how good this team will be when everyone is bought in for a whole season. I am excited for the future and lets finish this season strong and make a bowl game!!!

These threads usually end well..............sigh.

Was it the players who had issues with game management that cost us a few games? I'll give the coaches credit if they finish the season by beating a #7 MSU and a Top 5 Iowa team, but to act like they have no blame in this situation is equally lacking brain cells. Both sides are to blame on some level for what's happened this season along with bad luck in reference to injuries.

Please do not try to rewrite history, it was a Qb sweep, No Pass! That was on Tommy.

Just glad the players finally came around, we can win out and get it rolling into next season. Black Friday will be big.

Dear Gawd.

Coach T, it has been mentioned by players and coaches that is was to be a run, not a pass. Tommy improvised and it didn't work.

Enough players/coaches talk. There's bits of both but they're all in it together. Coaches don't always have their best days and neither do the players. Some players fit well and acclimate fast, and some don't.

It's been a good two games. That's something that should be celebrated for everybody. Players, coaches. Sure, there's plenty of work ahead - for everyone. We know that. Great job, Team NU!

Maybe you didn't see the quote from Gerry I posted.. It explains a lot.

It looks really easy to build a case from a single point to blame the entire season on the players' effort. I will try to do the same for the coaches...

Losses (Team-Run-Play-Total-Run:Pass)

`BYU-37-41-78 47.4%

Miami-32-45-77 41.6%

Illinois-34-31-65 52.3%

Wisky-34-50-84 40.5%

NW-38-48-86 44.2%

Purdue-29-48-77 37.7%

In Losses- 43.9% Run:Pass

Wins (Team-Run-Play-Total-Run:Pass)

SoA-37-38-75 49.3%

SoMiss-39-35-74 52.7%

Minney-39-24-63 61.9%

Michigan St-36-33-69 52.2%

Rutgers-38-21-59 64.4%

In Wins- 56.1% Run:Pass

Looks like, for 9 of the 11 games, if the coaches chose to run the ball more than pass, we win. If they called more passes than runs, we lost. Simple as that. No reason to look any further into the situation.
