Graduated Transfer QB Thread

Visiting LSU for a Tulane student is like taking the trip from UNO to Creighton to 'visit'. The kid needs no visit to LSU for any reason except to self promote as he has probably attended any number of games there, etc in his life already. The real question is why leave Tulane to come to Lincoln, unless Tulane is dropping football or changiing coaches or something of that sort. A back up at Tulane is not what we are needing unless we are looking at a change of positions or getting another player as well (brother, friend, cousin, etc.?). These are few things I would be wondering about.,

Perhaps our staff is valuing having another QB with actual college experience over guys who have never played at the college level yet.

Edit: By perhaps, I mean they are.

Move doesnt make a ton of sense to me.. I guess if they feel he can pick up the system quickly and push Tommy, but just dont see a guy who has done nothing at Tulane being able to help the Huskers.
Its a move for 2017 (and maybe 2018) depth. He would not be eligible this fall.
Good to know. For some reason i thought he was a grad transfer...

For the 2nd time, he is looking to leave because Tulane hired a new coach that runs the option.

I thought that too the first time I saw his name. I mean it is in the Graduate QB Transfer thread...

I am really confused as to how this kid fits into our program.

He would have to sit out a year, take up a scholarship (if he is given one), then compete with not only POB but next year's QB recruit also.

I'm just not seeing the benefit of bringing him in at this time.

Worst case scenario, he ends up being a veteran backup QB that the coaches can turn to if POB gets hurt, and Bush/Darlington are completely worthless as QB's.

2017 QBs

Darlington Jr

Bush Jr

O'Brien Fr/So

2017 QB Commit Fr

Having an experienced D1 starter (as a Jr or Sr) would be good insurance just in case

POB could be a redshirt freshman next year depending on what they decide to do with him. It's quite possible that Lee could win the job.

Neither Bush nor Darlington appear to have asserted themselves as legitimate successor candidates to date. It's quite possible that they won't in their time here, but that could change.
