Douschebag Hall of Fame

I did not watch that game and never will. I missed out on the anger and anguish as that was the weekend my dad was on his deathbed.

Lucky me?

We sat in a hospital watching my wifes uncle die with her family during the 2012 title debacle.

So are we nominating the 2010 Texas game to the Douschebag Hall of Fame or did I miss something?

Anyhow... I was very excited for that game even though Texas had two losses. I even remember what I did that day. I drove to Omaha and went to the zoo with some of my family. Every single person at Henry Doorly was wearing red except one family who was wearing orange. Then the game started. I was so mad I started my drive back home around midway through the 4th quarter and heard the punt return call on the radio.

I don't like thinking about that season at all. That season more than any other is one where we were so close to something amazing. We were in the hunt to go to the NC when we played A&M but stinking Missouri had to injure our quarterback. Missouri ruined our season more than the Texas loss did.

If we're just nominating games now then we have to throw the 2011, 2012 CCG, and 2014 Wisconsin games. Pretty douchy.

I rarely miss games but I missed the first Wisconsin debacle except when I was at the bar getting another drink. At one point I was just sitting there totally drunk looking at the scoreboard and laughing hysterically.

I would be the true friend holding back your hair as you puke your guts out into the toilet.

I saw some crap like that on facebook before I got the hell out of that cesspool.

I try not to miss games, too, but one game I'm not sorry to have missed at all is '14 Wisc.

I remember checking the scores a couple times. It was close at first. And then it wasn't.

(this was after the '12 CCG, but it was similar -- close at first, then it wasn't)

(some 'National Lampoon Vacation parody...)

[Tom Osborne walks up to Bo's office]

Bo: Hi Tom, what's the problem?

Tom: Get out of your office!

Bo: I don't think I was swearing. Was I spitting or something?

Tom: Shut your mouth, sir! You know, if I weren't a legend around here, I'd split your skull with my National Championship ring faster than you can say, "win at all costs!"

Bo: Well whatever I did, I'm sure I can explain...

[Tom forcibily takes Bo by the arm and leads him to the newspapers, showing pictures of the CCG massacre and Nebraskas despondent and humiliated fans]

Tom: Explain this, you son-of-a-b!^@h!

Bo: Oh my God... Oh, you can't think I'd do this on purpose? Look... I told our DBs to stay home during the sweeps. It was very confusing. And Tim must have forgot about our diamond formation. I'm very sorry, I feel terrible.

Tom: How do you think the fans feel?

Bo: Look, I told you I was sorry. It really was part of the process.

Tom: Well, I guess I can buy that, sir. But it is a shame. I had fanbase like this when I was a kid.

[both Bo and Tom sorrowfully look at the faces of embarassed NU fans]

Tom: Poor little fans. Probably held out hope for a quarter or so.

[tearing up]

Tom: Tough little huskers...

Big 10 CCG maintenance worker: "Here's a helmet coach Pelini. I am going to back to get the rest of your defense's carcass off the field."

I guess I don't remember that. Define "in the hunt".

We were ranked 8th with 4 weeks left in the season. In hindsight I think we would've ended up in 4th place if he hadn't been injured. Don't worry, I don't think Nebraska would've gone to the national championship game over your team.
