Keith Williams Suspended Two Weeks, Will Miss Four Games

I think he will be here for the long haul now. With three of these, it's too big of a risk for another college to hire him. The NFL is trying to show a clean image and I can't see him land there either.

He got this last chance. It's only here. And I'm sure he knows it.

However, I have a really hard time reading a headline like that from a news source that employs Michael Irvin, whose rap sheet makes Williams' pale in comparison. I understand that ESPN is in the business of reporting on sports news, but that hypocrisy is galling in a situation like this.

Hope there are other stipulations put in place for his off the field lifestyle. That's more important than him being able to coach.

Had an old roommate get picked up for his 2nd DUI years back and they made him attend daily or 3x per week class sessions, then made him pee test 2-3x per week. He was able to install interlock in his car to drive, but had to have that for at least 2 years.

Outside of being fired, if he was going to be retained, I think the punishment is pretty fair.

and I hope there's no stipulations placed by the University. That's up to him. Put stipulations in place then someone has to monitor them. If the punishment is enough for Coach KW to self monitor is behavior he needs to go packing. Plus the court system will levy some sort of mandatory classes and fines.

Yeah with the powers that be currently running things in Lincoln I can't say I'm surprised with the basic slap on the wrist they're giving Williams. Strange strange times in Lincoln these days so when it comes to this program nothing surprises me anymore. On to the season eh?

I think a four game suspension is too much, but I don't think it makes much of a difference either way. He's a coach, not the school bus driver. The legal system will penalize him. In the meantime, I still have to drive on I-80/-480/-680 with all manner of (likely sober) aggressive a$$hole$ speeding, tailgating, cutting people off, texting, etc.,... probably some of the same people criticizing Williams' "irresponsibility."

It was only a four game suspension. That we know of..... None of us know the complete, if any, other issues Williams is facing from the administration. There might be mandatory treatment, public speaking, limited/supervised recruiting. We don't know the legality of his contract as it related to the possibility of termination etc,

I'm not defending him or the sentence, but we don't know all the facts. Really, we know two. He was arrested and suspended. Other than that its speculation.

And the day I take morality lessons from ESPN..........
