c**t OF THE DAY

First of all, I don't generally use that type of word in my daily vocabulary, but in this situation, it was appropriate.

I could tell from the opening kickoff that we were going to have some issues. When my wife and I stood up, in row 1 our section, it was apparent that the couple didn't have plans to stand. They didn't verbally communicate it, but body language said it.

Half time rolls around, and the band gets to playing. So we are finally sitting enjoying halftime... until, a group of 4 college age students come down and stand right in front of us talking to some other people. I politely asked, are your seats right here? (Obviously knowing they aren't, because their weren't seats there.) They replied, no just talking to some friends we won't be here much longer. Which was fine, just wanted to kind of help clear them out.

Onto the 2nd half. So, I'm enjoying the hell out of the Huskers game, cheering my a$$ off, mostly by myself (more on that later). When all of the sudden I'm getting bitched at about having my hands above my eyes (shading the sun). "Jesus, I can't see the game already and now you have your hands up too?" So I turn around and apologize immediately, letting her know I'm just trying to block the sun. Before I can even spit out the rest of my apology, she sets into me again. "I can't see over you, and then you're bouncing back and forth, side to side, and now you have your hands up." At this point I was offended and f'ing pissed. Then, her little f'ing husband sets in, mostly repeating her thoughts. I cal my stated that I was sorry and there isn't much I could do to help them.

I turn around and the old f'ing geezer says, "you didn't like it when those guys were in front of you, so knock it off." Then I just felt so pissed, dejected and disrespected that I just shut down and didn't move besides cheering for the rest of the game.

This older couple more or less ruined the game for me. Every game I've ever been at has been one of the top moments of my lifetime. I've always thoroughly enjoyed the fans around me and I feel it was reciprocated.

Edit: geez, I almost forgot another part of this. This couple didn't cheer once the entire game. Not once! They also left with 5 minutes left and only bitched about play calling all game.

Which makes me nominate the lady in section 4 row 2 seat 21 at the Illinois game on October 1, 2016 for c**t of the Day! Congrats!

(My other note was how the stadium seemed really quiet until the 4th qtr, my section especially) perhaps it was because it was a day game, idk, I was slightly disappointed, but maybe it was because of the a-hole couple behind me).

Might also be because you were sitting in a blue blood area and this was a very low key game. Expectations for this game were a win by over what the spread was. You could hear some grumbles and overall the fans just weren't into this game as they were in previous games (especially coming off of an all timer sound wise against Oregon). But yeah that fan needed to get their hands out of their butts and I question why they would want to go to games if all they were going to do is b**** about the team and not enjoy themselves.

I was at the Wyoming game a few weeks ago. Sitting in the very top row on the east side on the goal line. Below us one row and over on the aisle were two guys. The younger of the two was very animated after every play, bitching that these coaches are idiots and why would they call THAT play at that moment. Finally toward the end of the 2nd quarter a guy below us called him out and he was pretty quiet the rest of the game.

Sorry for the crappy experience Matty.

I've been in west stadium twice. Horrible experience both times. Though I had a phenomenal experience everywhere else in the stadium that I've sat.

I'll second your nomination of that lady. I hate those people.

The season tickets my wife and I have access to are in North Stadium on the Eastern side a little more than halfway up.

I f'ing hate that section. There is a family of a 3 that attends every game yet knows less about football than my 1 year old. Couple that with the fact there are roughly 2-4 dumbf@&ks who always seem to squeeze into that row that should be a row down or up. We usually sneak over to the student section.

The only non-student section place I've sat was under the overhang in East stadium where you can see the field and nothing else. It was like we were all one big sh**ty seat family. It turned out to be a great social experience despite not being able to see anything but the field.

Sucks about your experience though :/
