PSA: Quit being dumb fans

This sh#t has bothered me all year, and some things said within the OGT have finally tripped my trigger.

Quit being dumb fans. If you're going to make comments, get educated about the rules of the game. I've been at multiple husker games this year where every single penalty results in the officials being booed. Typically on plays where the outcome without the penalty results in an extremely favorable situation for us. The pick that Reily threw during that screen play is Offensive PI. The right call was made. Don't be an asshat and boo the refs.

As a fan, if you hear another Husker fan making ignorant comments, set them straight.

Nothing makes me more ashamed to be a fan when we're known as the fan base that boos the refs for every penalty.

My comment was directly specifically at "dumb fans", not Husker fans in general. Nothing rude about calling an idiot and idiot when they're being an idiot.

And no, you don't boo the refs. That isn't the job of a fan. Your job is to support the team. How does booing the refs for making a correct call support the team? "Hey, it's ok that you committed that penalty. refs are stoopid. lulz."

Fans boo BAD calls, the magnitude of how bad it has to be varies from fan to fan. It's not that big of a deal. Have you been to a home game this year? I've been to all of them. We boo every call, regardless the validity. So yes, I agree. Fans boo bad calls. I'm saying we need to quit booing every call. Seems like we're on the same page. I also agree. Booing an injured player is not good, but at the same time, they were running a tempo offense. Not sure if Freedom was actually injured or just tired. I seriously don't know.

Also I specifically stated I'm addressing "dumb fans". Your first point is invalid.

I took my brother-in-law and his wife to the game. He is an ISU fan. He made the comment that "Wow, you guys boo every call against you?" and I responded with "Yeah, that's what our fanbase views as normal behavior"

When all but one penalty is called against the Huskers, and when IU had a similar pick that wasn't called ill boo whoever the hell I want.

If the game was called consistently it'd be different. These refs sucked.
