Riley eyeing Donte Williams

Nebraska is one of the few schools that have an athletic department that operates in the black and is fully self sustaining.

Arizona could get in a bidding match with us but they wouldn't last long.

They could within the paradigm of the market.

If NU wanted to pay coordinator money for him to be a position coach, they may let him go.

On the flip side, not just money may hold him in Arizona. His recruiting on the west coast is easier to maintain on a P12 team. And for junior assistants, picking a region/conference has an enormous impact on career geographic trajectory.

He may decide he wants to stay in the west/southwest rather than transition to the B10 country. I've not read his full bio though.

Seemed to have got awful quiet once it was leaked.
Awful quiet..? No..?

It has been confirmed by both parties, Williams and NU. Williams is taking some time to consider the offer, and will have an answer ASAP. This is important because the coaches want him on the road recruiting for NU before the dead period hits, which is Dec 12. You should see an answer by Monday, IMO.

Compare Read vs Williams...

Read recruited a solid long snapper and it looks like a promising punter. Our ST was awful, could it be worse? Not really.

Williams is a top notch recruiter who is an energetic coach. Not sure what position he would really work with, but...

It bugs me that we even had Read on board at all... ugh.

"Resisting the urge to call you out on your foolish conclusion jumping. "

This reminds me of Donald Trump in the first debate. "I'm not going to bring up your husband's infidelity, even though I really want to bring it up. So, I'm not going to bring that up."
