The Village of the "Banned"

I talked to Count just now. He's frustrated with the direction of the board, the way some of our most commonly-nominated people in the Douschebag HOF are allowed to post with impunity (paraphrasing). He said he's learned a lot from coaching lately and he's frustrated with some of the ignorance he sees in the Football forum, and he was basically checking out on his own. He couldn't stop posting on his own so he kinda decided (again, paraphrasing) to step over the line so he'd get banned.

He said to tell everyone, Mods included, that it's nothing personal and he doesn't have a problem with anyone. He said he's just not as interested in posting here anymore.

Well that blows!
I have had several personal conversations with Count and while he used a different dictionary to choose his words from, I understood his frustrations. I was not very impressed with the banning of Count based on what I have seen put out there by other posters, but if what BRI has stated (reached out to and he balked), then adding what Knapp has added, I guess it was his decision.

I have been in the P&R forums and you can get caught up in the moment! JJ made a few comments in there that I believe have some validity with regards to how poeple are perceived to be Stanch Trump Supporters when they make a comment contrary to the base group in the thread. I was identified within that thread as one of the three following:

Voted for Trump: Nope!

Republican: Nope!

Conservative: Yes, but open minded enough to seek out answers. But I do have my values, based on my experiences.

I do not have a hardon for anyone here at HB, enjoy most everyone's view points and come here as a release. I have spoke by message to AR in the past years (board mail) as well as many of the Mods and Admin. Tough job to balance things out and God knows, they are human as well.

Some of us older guys probably need to stay out of the P & R forum because things are changing ever so fast. Went to the movie "Passengers" last night and made me think how fast things will be changing in the future. Also I have been reading some pretty intense articles on Quntum Theory and entanglement. This subject will cause you to dig deep into the abyss within your minds, I assure you!

Anyway, sorry to hear Count has surrendered his post, I believe he was a guy I could have drank a few beers with at the nearest watering hole!

Nice way to describe his words Knapp, (Paraphrasing). I am sure that his words were fairly descriptive and colorful.

That's the thing. It's hard to remember, sometimes, that we're all real dudes (aside from some of the obvious trolls) that are living real lives, with real sh#t going on. I started posting here as a catharsis after I nearly lost my wife. I've gone through a bunch of life changes since I've been a member here, nearly ten years. Some have been for the better, some for the worse. I've been a good guy, an a$$, a jerk, a moron and a genius. Depends on the day, really.

I think Count is going through some life changes, too. Maybe not drastic, maybe OK, but stuff is different for him. He's got to sort his stuff out, too. Hopefully he'll be back but if he isn't, I think he'll be OK. We'll be OK, too.

We used to have some really great people who posted here regularly. A lot of them are gone - and I'm talking WAY before the Polo/tschu/RotoRiot purge of a couple years ago. Before True, before Count. They just moved on. The place changed, it was different, but it's still pretty good.

I remember when Mavric was a noob. I remember when Decked started out, when speed was a young pup, when Bye Bye Big XII was finding his voice here. Now they're some of the most prolific posters here, and they're great. That goes for Moriaine, zoogs, Fru, hell, Matty's gonna be running this show some day and he'll be fine.

If you told Vince from Shamwow, Dundermifflinite and Fro Daddy that I'd be a Mod running this place for five years when I first joined they'd have laughed in your face. But I turned out OK, and this place survived my reign of terror.

We all go through stuff. We all change. In the end, generally speaking, Husker fans are true and honest and good people. We keep getting that kind of person on this site, we'll be fine.
