Shatel: Mike Riley goes on offensive with staff changes, but creates more questions than answers

Nobody.

My turn: Who wants to be a football coach that makes $2.7 million a year for one of the most storied programs of all time that has recently experienced a fall from greatness?

I would. I mean, I wouldn't last very long, but $2.7 million isn't bad.

Another thing to consider:

We tend to look at these situations as if it's *only* a question of performance. Nobody on this forum should claim to know what's actually going on behind the scenes.

Sure, Riley and Banker have had a relationship for a long, long time. How do we know that there wasn't a falling out that occurred over the 6-12 months? We don't know the story. We'll let it play out.

Obviously, if in two years we're no better on defense there will be a monumental grumbling from the fan base in its typical, fickle fashion. But just remember, we don't know all that's going on behind the scenes.

Enhance, the point I was making that of course, nobody wants to hire fire their long-time friends. But it comes with the territory of the assignment that Riley has.

That seems pretty simple to understand.

I just wanted to share the salary would be cool. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
