Mav Sucks Ed Morrow

Mav, are you f'ing stupid? Or just can't read?

I gave you at minimum four stats I don't like on Ed.

Rebounds

Assists

Blocks

Defense

If you want to debate, get your #fakenews out of here and stop saying I won't give more than 1.

For the third time, I guess:

He's currently #8 in the B1G in rebounding, t-14 in FG%, t-12 in blocks per game and leading the conference in offensive rebounds per game. That's not a perfect player but that's bringing quite a bit to the table.
You don't like his rebounding? How much better does he have to be than leading the conference in offensive rebounding? And #8 in the conferese in total rebounding? How many more minutes per game do the guys play that are ahead of him? How much better does he have to be before you'll like it?

Assists - fine. He's bad at getting assists. Our whole team is bad at getting assists. I'm not that concerned about our center getting a lot of assists. If you are, more power to you.

Blocks - He's tied for 12th in the conference in blocks per game. That seems pretty decent for an undersized PF. How many more minutes are the guys ahead of him playing? How much better does he need to be for you to see him as good?

I guess I can't find stats on "defense". You'll have to help me out there.

Love the conversation. However, I am super confused about the thread title. Are we telling Ed Morrow that "Mav sucks"? Or is it that Mav performs fellatio on Ed Morrow?

I guess I am misreading it.

How are you going to start a thread calling out another poster and then just not respond to them for several hours? Priorities, man...

Our whole team is not bad at getting assists. Ehhh, well, they're not good. But there are players on the team, at Ed's SAME POSITION, who get assists at 4 times the rate he does. 4 times. Ed has had 8 assists this entire year. People like to complain about not having a cohesive offense but want the guy who literally kills it on the floor.

Blocks/other sh#t - I don't really care, I want you to compare spades to spades. "12th in the conference for blocks" - what position would you expect to be getting blocks? 4 or 5s. How many of those start in the B1G? Exactly 28. So to say he's "good" for being 12th means he's literally in the exact middle. Average. Same thing goes for the other stats you pointed out. "12th in the B1G" is average in statistics that only mean anything to big men (which he really isn't). Glynn and the other 13 starting PGs in the league aren't out there rebounding over anyone. So compare apples to apples.

Ed is one of the worst defensive players on the team. Any time Ed is taken on in the paint, opponents average 1.2pts. That is one of the worst rates in the country for any player at any position. If I'm a scout, my plan is to dump it low repeatedly until Miles is forced to shake his head and pull Ed out.

Earlier, I crunched a bunch of numbers on the team's assists, but I didn't post it. The team averages about 3 more assists per game when Morrow plays

So only starters are allowed to block shots or be counted among the league leaders?

Ed only started 5 games this year.

When Morrow plays a minute? When Morrow plays all 40 minutes?

If you don't look at stats on a per minute basis in basketball, you're wasting your time trying to talk efficiency.

Ed played 5 minutes, left the court, all of a sudden Glynn goes off (while he's on the bench) for 7 assists. Ed contributed to that?

And, of course, when you're trying to down-play his league-leader stats, you're comparing him to the others on a per-minute basis, right?

No one disputes he can rebound. It's literally the only facet of the game he's good at.
