"Follow closely" as in watch a 6 minute interview? What is going on with the Nebraska media right now?

I am just a little annoyed with some of the junior-level reporting going on. Nothing against BC, specifically. In fact, I normally like him.Don't understand your post."Follow closely" as in watch a 6 minute interview? What is going on with the Nebraska media right now?
Facts. It just gets annoying.I mean, they're sports journalists - glorified message board posters.
That's a great point.Facts. It just gets annoying.I mean, they're sports journalists - glorified message board posters.
Oh, and another thing that gets tired is when you hear these guys berating Husker fans for their overreactions, while they are the ones who stoke the flames.
The guys from the OWH seem to intentionally troll Husker fans on a pretty regular basis. They've fueled and/or artificially created rivalries between Nebraska and Creighton, Iowa, surrounding state schools who recruit Nebraska kids, etc. They looooooove to talk about players who got away, and the implication is always that UNL dropped the ball (often ignoring that the kid was kinda average in HS and developed in college). That resonates with a lot of people so they get their jimmies rustled and respond. I've done it before I realized it's a tactic and not a deeply-held opinion.Oh, and another thing that gets tired is when you hear these guys berating Husker fans for their overreactions, while they are the ones who stoke the flames.
Well, I created the title, thread, and OP, so I guess "thanks". However, you are missing the point that I was making. I do not condemn sports journalists from having nor expressing their opinions and then clarifying the situation when they learn the details. What annoys me is how some do not own their incorrect speculations, flip their positions, and say how they are "not surprised" that it played out the way they did. Like we (the consumers of their reports) are supposed to have social amnesia. Most reporting such as what you're upset about is the reporter's guess. I'm surprised that's such a big revelation. They follow a program and they have some more access than we do. But, that doesn't mean they talk to Riley on a day to day basis to get the latest ramblings of who is doing what as far as depth charts.
The media has given their opinions that Lee has an edge going into spring based on experience. Not sure why that's so controversial. It's the off season. Langs then comes out and says they are neck and neck. Are you shocked that the OC would say that after the 3rd spring practice when he really wants both players to fight for the starting job?
The title of the thread this was put in is appropriate.
Even though, I got mildly annoyed at the tweet posted above, I would say Brain Christopherson is a good follow. The guys from the OWH seem to intentionally troll Husker fans on a pretty regular basis. In fact, oddly enough, I was just thinking of creating a thread where I asked people which local journalists they felt gave the best info on twitter and which ones they felt were just there to create stories for their own ends. The former are worth following, and the latter really aren't. A good national example of this is Andy Staples. I stopped following him years ago after realizing I hadn't learned a thing from him in years, but I'd witnessed umpteen dozen "spats" he's had with fans across the country. He's good at generating conversation, but it's all manufactured arguments.
I said a month before he committed that there was no way we were going to get Lindsey. I'd read all the clippings and reports. That's simply how I saw it. If I were a reporter writing for a paper, that's what I would have said in the paper. As it turns out, I was wrong. Looking back though, I can see things that I was over looking and I would say now, I'm not surprised he is here.Well, I created the title, thread, and OP, so I guess "thanks". So, after weeks of beating the Tanner Lee drum, I am cool with them saying "Turns out the QB race is closer than we thought" as oppose to "Like we have been saying this whole time, the QB competition will be hot and heavy this spring".
