Douchebag Thread for Politics & Religion Spill Over

I believe God or a higher power exists because there are far too many incredible things in this world/universe. I may be a practicing Lutheran, but I also believe there are several ways to interpret God, that Lutheranism probably has inaccuracies and has nowhere close to all the answers.

For myself, I can have faith without it being a burden. I can have faith without being completely tied down to the exact doctrines of my religion. Some in my faith may disagree with this viewpoint and approach, but I also believe we're all imperfect, and that can cause us all to create our own interpretations of our existence. And absolutely none of us can say, with factual certainty, that one person is right or one person is wrong.
This is how I feel. Maybe it's that common Lutheran background ;-) But I converted to Catholicism quite a few years ago and they're not quite as amenable to straying from doctrine and dogma. So don't tell my priest what I really think...

This is kind of true, but at the same time, Catholicism doesn't live nearly as much in the silly sacred/secular divide that most protestant and evangelical traditions do, which gives people the space to engage in the world and culture way more free.

I believe in a thing called love

Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
Is there a chance we can make it now?

Perhaps, but only if we rock until the earth rotates far enough so as to make the sun nonvisible.

I'm pretty sure this was ZRod's reaction.

From Dewiz' latest trolling status update. Figured this response was better suited to the Shed and I'd save the Mods the grief of locking that idiocy on my account.

Knapp there won't be any real conversations to be had, the P&R forum has proven that for months now. How am I trolling? These are my views and such views aren't welcomed to numerous people here so they call said poster a troll. Here's a solution for you and others, if you don't like what I say don't respond. One reason why I've avoided the P&R

Attention whore bahahaha.....you got me.
The P&R forum is among the busiest on this site, with excellent conversations among people with very diverse views. The only people that fare poorly there are people who present opinions unsupported by facts, especially opinions that are easily debunked and/or shown to be foolish. You're well known for such opinions, and you've earned the level of respect commensurate with such opinions.

P&R isn't for everyone, and that obviously includes you, because you have the mind of a child. If you can't swim then stay out of the deep end. But don't cry at the people who can. It's not our fault you're bad at discussing politics.

You're not going to get very far in any political conversation if you offer up propagandized, biased or uninformed information. We have people on all sides of the political spectrum who have been guilty of this and get understandably criticized for it in the P&R forum.

Few people here are biased against political parties - most simply dislike an obvious myrmidon.

There have been half a dozen or more occasions where you drop a tweet by a random far right nut job with ~14 followers, it gets proven to be completely made up bullsh#t or illogical, and then you ignore the whole thing like it never happened. Rinse and repeat. Or you offer up some completely insincere apology and berate the person who responded. Rinse and repeat.

I'm still interested in what media sources DeWiz consumes, beyond random Twitter provocateurs.

I view his drive-by status updates simply as merely relaying the party line of the president he supports. Almost verbatim sometimes... like he sits down and decides how Trump-like he can make them. If that's his opinion, fine. But tell us how you arrive at it. Is it exclusively what Trump's state-run media apparatus feeds you, along with randos raging on Twitter? Or what do you consider fair and impartial news sources?
