Good job locking the only discussion on sexism

Let's just have a new thread about sexism and try to watch for anyone who's clearly only here to instigate or derail it. 

There's good, valuable discussion on this topic, including the inevitable disagreements we'll have. It's important.

 
As an outsider to the discussion in the blocked thread, mainly for a lack of opinion/knowledge of the subjects discussed, the discussions you all had really made me think and enlightened me to problems that I didn't necessarily realize before. Agree with you all in that it's something that needs addressed.

 
I fail to see why it was locked.  Some conversations steered away from the original topic.  But, most of the time, that is remedied by moving those posts to another thread.

 
As an outsider on that topic, I can see both sides; the discussion was lively, but wasn't getting too personal in terms of attacks (IMO), but I'm not going to argue with a Mod locking something that has the potential to get out of hand. 

That being said, I think it's a discussion that is worth having. 

 
I just went back and read it ... not sure what the bannable event was?  

Honestly it's a convo I would have liked to jump in on, but I was travelling this week and just couldn't keep up with the activity.  I agree with others here that the topic is one that deserves discussion.

No one got banned. But I'm assuming you meant lockable.

I assumed you didn't join in because you thought I was crazy :)

Yes you're right - locked not banned.

And no - every time I logged in there were 33 new posts, some I agreed with and many that wanted to dig into further (none of yours - they all got +1's).
