That there are PI calls on a fake punt...
No.
By going for it he gave himself two chances to win: either the TD there or one on the next drive. Kicking the FG leaves only one opportunity to win the game, and that's only if you can get the ball back with only 3 minutes left and 2 TO's.
The no call on the DPI on our 4th and 6 at the end was pretty suspect as well. That PI call was BS. How are you supposed to know it's a fake? A lot of those holding calls were tacky, too. It felt pretty uneven.
Er... no because he gave Purdue the same field position with essentially the same clock count only with Nebraska having less points. IdioticNo.

Having less points doesn't matter, winning the game is what matters. You can think it's idiotic, but I think you're wrong.Er... no because he gave Purdue the same field position with essentially the same clock count only with Nebraska having less points. Idiotic
It would have required us to get a FG to win with the same amount of clock....Purdue stopped us on the 18 yd line...a kick off into the end zone after a FG would have put them on the 20 and we would have been down by 2...Having less points doesn't matter, winning the game is what matters. Instead we score no points force are defense to make a stop at the same yardage line as we would have after a kickoff and then force the offense to score a TD...It would have required us to get a FG to win with the same amount of clock....Purdue stopped us on the 18 yd line...a kick off into the end zone after a FG would have put them on the 20 and we would have been down by 2...
What if we kick the FG and then Purdue picks up a first down and runs out the clock? Then you never gave yourself a chance to win.It would have required us to get a FG to win with the same amount of clock....Purdue stopped us on the 18 yd line...a kick off into the end zone after a FG would have put them on the 20 and we would have been down by 2...
That was great coverage. The play personnel was far more concerning. The no call on the DPI on our 4th and 6 at the end was pretty suspect as well.
Really? The defender never looked for the ball and pushed the receiver. That was great coverage.
Did you watch the game? We had to stop them anyway after turning it over on 4th down and not scoring a TD. We came away with no points and forced an anemic offense to score a TD to win. What if we kick the FG and then Purdue picks up a first down and runs out the clock? Then you never gave yourself a chance to win.
If you go for it, you've got a chance to win right there without the other team getting the ball. And if you don't get it, then you've still got a chance to win if you can stop the other team.
If you kick the FG, you MUST stop the other team, and you only have one chance to win.
