OK...here is blatant proof of a poll that a majority of the respondents were women 

list of holidays by popularity.

Only a woman would put Valentine's Day above St. Patrick's Day.


 
I'm not sure Christmas even makes my top ten holidays.

In order

Thanksgiving (food and football)

New Years (hangover, food and football)

Independence Day (fireworks, booze and bbq)

Easter (just food)

St Patricks Day (corned beef and booze)

Halloween (cute little kids and hopefully some booze)

Valentines and Christmas are somewhere near the bottom, not favorites at all.

 
Christmas is right at the top for me with thanksgiving, New Years and Easter. 

St Patrick’s Day is in the group right after that with July 4th. Valentine’s Day wouldn’t even be in my list.

Waaaaaaat?

Christmas is easily my favorite. Love everything about it. Love the decorating, love the music (it'll be all I listen to until New Year's in about a week), love the lights, the weather. It's just the ultimate family experience for us. My wife, three kids, and I just love it. Christmas, and not really even from a religious standpoint, has always been a huge deal in my family since I was a kid.

My top 5 would be:

1. Christmas (by far)

2. Halloween

3. Thanksgiving

4. Independence Day

5. Easter

-Huge drop off between the top 3, and 4/5.....

- MLK day? Fine holiday, but how the hell is that making anyone's top 5?

I like the family stuff, music etc. for Christmas but I don't like that it starts so darned early, the shopping, the decorating.......all the extra work and stress. Christmas eve and Christmas day are great. It's the 2 months of BS leading up to it that I can do without. That might be because my wife loses her mind over Christmas. Just yesterday she was talking about getting a 3rd tree to decorate. Christmas is definitely her favorite by far.

We'll decorate this weekend in our house :D  Once Halloween is over it's Christmas season in our house!

I agree with the order of holidays completely.  I have to grit my teeth to go into Menards with all the Christmas decorations they've had up for a month.

 
Men don't mess around with silly things like love. We do manly things like get wasted. Hell yeah, beer, right? Caring about romance is for the wimmenfolk.

For me:

A birthday
Christmas
New Year's
Valentine's

When my children were small, my ex and I would do all the decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. My current wife and I do don't much in terms of decorating. We  put up a christmas tree for my great-grandkids. Last year we bought the star showers thing.

My least favorite part is having to rearrange my living room
