Blast from the past

[MCAT800]

Being bored this morning at work ( I'm a firefighter )I decided to search back to page 156 of the HB ,dating back to the beginning of the 03 season.

Of course I didn't read every post while working my way back to the present but the eye catching posts I did read.

Not that I forgot what transpired over the dark ages (02-04) but I did forget the emotions that were so intense. Emotions most Husker fans have never felt in their lives!!!!!!!!!!

Unrest in Husker Nation, upheaval of everything we knew, losses, blow-outs, no-bowl games, no 9 win season, record after record lost forever, maybe the greatest run in all sports gone.

And as I continued to move to the present time I couldn't but help see how things have really turned around and restoring the order is so close it can almost be tasted. And as we sit here on the verge of this upcoming season I still think we have some major hurdles to clear but I wouldn't trade where were at now for anything.

So best wishes to the 07 Huskers and staff and may we return to our God given right of football domination.

I know what you mean, I spent all morning watching the Husker Project movie clips. I hated going through the "Dark Ages" again.

Some memories are just to painfull. Kind of like where sCUm is at now, although we were never that far down so I guess it isn't that painfull

bingo! The dark ages have passed. We are poised to enter a new era of Husker football! GO BIG RED!!

I heard our fight song on a local newscast this morning.

Which is strange now that I live in Arizona..Just thought it might have been adopted by one of the many new High Schools popping up around here..But still got my attention.

Then the Newscaster (Scott Pasmore) asked the other anchors why they were playing Nebraska's fight song when they didn't have a Football Team anymore...

Grrrrrr.

Made my Wife laugh anyway.

I STILL can't wait for the season to start and we can take our rightful place atop the College Feetball World
