Why we going to Scottsdale??

Also from that article Frost mentions there are only a few places i'd leave to coach, obviously Nebraska is one of them, I wonder what the others are or if there are others?
The in laws picked up to watch their son in law sign the greatest contract of his life?

Edit: someone beat me to it.

I know, right?  I'll reserve judgement till i see, but really reminds me of a Lovie Smith hire for Illinois.  I didnt think that would work well, and so far it really hasn't at all.
But atleast Lovie has ties to the state in which he is coaching. He also was just recently unemployed, Herme hasn’t coached winced 2008. Makes zero sense... at least it’s no us, it Callahan esque

At least Herm seems like a likable guy, whereas Callahan was an arrogant SOB (IMO).  We'll see.  I thought Sumlin was going to get the job, which i think make way more sense.

I was initially worried that Frost might want to stay and coach the bowl game, but the way he is talking in interviews, he's putting all the focus on this one game this weekend, and I think once its over, he will turn his entire attention to Nebraska and getting a quick move on his staff and the 2018 class.
I agree. The bowl game, to me, is like the first game of a new season. So whoever UCF chooses to be the new coach should really coach the bowl game in this case (although Scott would probably have liked to have had it be his swan song-(maybe) but reality beckons him home to his new team.

Chap doesn't even get Frost's birthplace correct. Scott wasn't a Wood River native (born there). That's where he played high school ball and one of schools that his parents coached at.

Stick to peddling soap Herbstreit!
I don’t consider your “birth place” as where you are a native from. I consider where you spend your most formative years growing up as a kid what makes you a “native”. To me, Frost is a Nebraska native. Yeah, he was born elsewhere and spent a few years in Texas, but he’s a Nebraska native to me.

Teams without coaches typically appoint an interim for bowl games.  It wouldn't make any sense for a new guy to come in and coach them -- they are used to what they practiced all season long, and that new person probably has other ideas on what they will do with the team.
