***2018 Recruiting***

With that LB position locked up time to focus on DB you'd think. If Smith is iffy and Jones is taking visits, that position is going to need a lot of leg work to finish out strong.
Yeah DB will be a priority as will OT I think. After that looking for an impact rusher and playmakers at any position. If they can get another top level RB or WR, I don’t see why they wouldn’t, but DB and OT are the priorities for sure.

We currently have 14 commits.  Frost says the number is 20.

I think we're looking for some combination of 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 2 OTs, 2 DLs and 2 DBs.  That's 9 positions for 6 spots - though we could sign 8 more at the moment.  But Mapieu and Smith are question marks academically so those numbers may depend on how they do.  Jurgens may also end up at LB which might explain why we're still looking for TEs and help fill the numbers at LB.

He has Avery Anderson at corner.  Anderson was recruited as a safety and has been flip-flopped between safety and corner since he got here.  I think he's a safety (if he ever really contributes).

Other than that it's Jackson, Lee and Bootle.  That's brutal.  Though I'm not sure how much I blame Dante Williams.

2017 really mucked things up for our defensive backfield. In today's game  you need 8-10 CBs on scholarship at minimum

He also had a chance to close on guys like Onyemaobi who went to TCU but we chose not to really push that. Blades was good enough to possibly take a risk on but they should have found another in case he didn't qualify which in the end he obviously didn't. We know Donte could recruit quality talent, but he needed to take more volume to stabilize the room that first year I feel like. He had more than enough time for that.

Juco help coming and a few more pieces from hopefully making that position group stronger.

Mav, do you think the twenty includes Moses Bryant getting a scholarship?

Also, if Vedral comes here he will definitely get one, so that would be twenty-two scholarships coming in. I would like this because a few guys will probably leave at Lb and Qb after spring ball.

I have not included either Vedral or Bryant.

We'll see if anyone leaves before the second semester starts.

Isn't Bryant more of a walk-on candidate? I was looking and only offer was North Dakota.
Bigger schools have been scared off by his grades and uncertainty if he will qualify academically. Bryant has been told that he would get an offer if his grades get in order. He is a good enough athlete to play RB or DB at the college level, although DB would probably be his best position.
