I still worry about the optics of playing our conference tourney so early, especially when there's still plenty of good bubble and tourney games while our kids will be done (win or lose). It's not good to have the entire conference sitting on its hands while the rest of the nation goes at it--out of sight, out of mind and all that.

As for scheduling...I'll just chalk this year up to a fluke. But if we continue to have our B1G schedule work against us, and we continue to see success, we're gonna need Moos to say something to the conference about how it creates schedules going forward.
You are right on the scheduling fluke. Ohio St. was picked near the bottom of the conference while Minnesota was considered a challenger for the top. Wisconsin has dropped off to point they haven't been in long time. Flip those over in NU's schedule and things probably look different. Not sure how they draw up the schedules but it can fall both ways. Look at Rutgers, they get Purdue, Ohio St., Michigan St., Nebraska twice and Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota once. But they played Minnesota in early December when they were full strength. So the Scarlet Knights definitely got the worst draw.

B1G going to a 20 game conference schedule next season.  Makes it less likely to have such a wonky schedule like we did this year.  Doesn't help that traditional quality teams like IU and Wiscy are so terrible this year either.

Also playing at MSG is not worth the awful scheduling and having to play conference games in the non-con schedule.  Makes it more difficult to put together a schedule and just made for a brutal two week stretch.  Play it in Brooklyn or the right weekend if you want NYC that bad.

ACC is playing in Brooklyn this year so it's not available thw right week either.

Latest update has us in only 9 brackets, but we are now one of the first 4 out. Penn State is now one of the next 4 out and are in 5 brackets.

Didn't look that up.  I meant more in general, the ACC and B1G aren't going to play in NYC every year so figure out a rotation in Brooklyn with them and play on the right weekend going forward.  Playing the same weekend as the Valley is going to be so awful.  The B1G going from the game that leads into the selection show to a pure afterthought the entire weekend.

Somewhere on the board I suggested an 8 year rotation of Omaha, Minneapolis, DC & NYC (Brooklyn) once and Chicago & Indianapolis twice. I still think it would be a great plan.

Unless upsets occur we will need to sweep Michigan or possibly beat Penn St back-to-back if they can get to the 5th spot.

With the way some other bubble teams have played lately, I think the only way Nebraska gets in is to win their next 4 games. Winning 5 would basically mean they're a lock, 4 they should be pretty confident, 3 probably means a 1 seed in the NIT.

Lots of important games today for the projected 9-11 teams and bubble teams.

Texas vs Oklahoma
Miami vs Syracuse
Providence vs Butler
Kansas State vs Iowa State

Boise State vs Air Force

and several more.

Also UCF won a game today.
