Really don't want to dive into what could be going on in his head.  But homesickness (IF that is what it could be) can lead to depression-like tendencies where you just don't want to do things and aren't motivated.

Again.  Just speculating.  I obviously have no insight as to what he's thinking.

 
Yeah, Roberts has the biggest golden opportunity of any underclassman on the team in my opinion. He’s in line to play a TON over these next couple of years in a great system that should show off his potential for the next level. Pretty telling if he’s having trouble getting motivated or buying in.

Still has some time to figure out how he wants his football career to go. I’m optimistic that our coaches will light the fire that he needs.

I'm optimistic the coaches will do the best they can....and I have confidence in them.

Ultimately, it's up to the player to kick it in gear and want to be a part of the future success.  If not, they will be washed out of the program.
