Mod/Admin profile viewership

Can we prevent posters from seeing if a mod/admin viewed their profile page?

SPH sent me a PM today asking me if 'I was looking for something' because he can see that I've visited his profile page regularly in the last few days. I have, and I don't have a problem admitting that, because he showed up in some reports and we were having conversations about him elsewhere in the mod forum.

The question caught me off guard a bit though and it's a little... odd... to me that he's checking this regularly enough to know.

Also, as a side note, I'm not really sure how to respond to him.

It kind of seems like there should be a setting for this but I can't find it.

I know I've been on his profile - and others - a few times recently.  I guess he doesn't bother to make conversation with me.

I'm not sure what the best response would be.  If he asked me I'd probably just say I was trying to remember a post from someone but couldn't remember who it was so I was looking at people's recent posts to see if I could find who posted it or something like that.

You're just too intimidating Mav.

Also, I think I've got the website working for me again, so I should be more present again. Sorry for the absence.

Odd that he noticed. He would have to go to his profile and look at the recently viewed on a regular basis, which sounds a little narcissistic or insecure. If it was part of a mod review, I don't see the harm in just telling him that. You could make it sound rather routine, as we do this for any and all board members.

If he wants to know more, just show him our disciplinary review chart.

Truth be told, this is exactly where my mind went. I would not be surprised if he's paranoid about his fractious relationship with the leadership team and if he checks his profile views to see if he's being targeted. I ended up giving him an explanation similar to what you suggested about it being 'routine.' It's actually pretty true - there are probably a few handfuls of posters whose pages I visit regularly and it's not always because they're in trouble. It's just how I use the board.

Also, love the chart!
