The Village of the "Banned"

True. But the crummy thing is, the new names are never as good as the old names.

Good point, it's always an established avatar and or banner with an awesome quote.  Then the new iteration can't be as edgy or flashy.

That's why FLU keeps getting banned, too much flash right outta the gate.

Since I've been keeping track of the rep points for so long, I kinda am. Not really "worrying," per se, but I do notice when people stop posting.

In the past few months, regulars who used to be on here all the time have dropped by the wayside. Here's the last six months' worth of input from some formerly frequent posters:

zoogs - 0

walksalone - 0

hskrfan4life - 3
Kiyoat Husker - 0
GM_Tood - 13
kchusker_chris - 0
Jarvis - 0

When these guys would average a few hundred posts in a bi-monthly period, that stands out.  NUance hasn't posted in two months, most recently after chastising the board for their reaction to the news of the Gebbia transfer, but he's gone silent and come back before.

Excel kinda comes and goes as a Wiscy fan, but he didn't post here this year before the game and only has about 155 posts in the past three years.
Don’t worry Pineapple, I’m still here to have your back

If a user gets banned does that block the IP address and everything?  or can they come back under a different name eventually . I thought MC was cool would suck if she was  gone for good .
It's possible to completely ban the IP, however, doing so would prevent any user from entering the fray through that IP. This results in some unintended consequences so it's reserved for severe cases.

We have several means of identifying users and we're fairly proficient at picking out sock accounts. In MC's case, we would likely pull out all the stops to prevent future log ins. It's nothing personal, however, the type of violations and the number of them warrants this course of action.

And what if I d!(k slapped @Stumpy1while he was sleeping, would that be a warning or temporary ban?  He insinuated I'm an Iowa fan a while back so I feel it's justified.

Considering you can't physically do that to anyone on Huskerboard, you'd probably a) get away with us not knowing and b) only face real world implications while maintaining safe posting status on Huskerboard.  :thumbs

I can almost see your sentencing hearing... "Please, your honor, throw me in prison and toss away the key... but don't ban me from Huskerboard!"

I know where @Stumpy1 sleeps...

Like anyone that tries to login to Huskerboard from Omaha Eppley Airfield thinking that they got banned
I'm going to have to try this the next time I'm at Eppley!

Whoever got banned from there is a selfish jerk.
