Mohamed Barry

Agreed.  And he said as much in his post game presser.

He's the perfect example of a great team player, but more production is needed from his position.

Frost has to take care of that on the recruiting trail.  Gifford is probably at his ceiling.
I saw his post game comment so went back and watched him in Purdue and Colorado game.  My first thought was dang it's easy to earn a scholarship, not much work required.  When he had one blocker to beat on pass rush there was no effort to get around the blocker and try to hurry the QB.  Maybe his role is only to contain the QB but that doesn't jibe with his comments.  He didn't do a good job containing Blough at start of 2nd qtr.  Most runs his way he was easily blocked and someone else made the tackle.  I'm just not sure why others think he's doing a good job or playing hard. :dunno .  I really think we might only have 1 or 1 1/2 dudes on defense.

Barry plays with a different fire.  Best defender at this point of the season in my opinion. Definitely would like to see that infused to other Blackshirts. He cares a lot.

Bootle has really impressed as well. Covers well, but not afraid to hit either. Someone compared him to Prince. A little early for that, but I do see some comparisons in their game.

At the end of the first four games, I often wonder if Gifford was even in the game. He gets lots of love for not doing a whole lot

Who cares, we'll find a way to make it work :D

I'm sure he would. He has a spirit for this game that's starting to become contagious. Last year coming into this year we didn't have that leader on the defense, certainly not from a production standpoint. This will be his team next year.

The crazy part is today wasnt even one of his better days. He embellishes Frosts motto of "desire to excel with no fear of failure"

The only problem i see with him, and maybe they coach it, but he will run into his gap and just put his head down and try taking out blocker. Why not go in there, hit the blocker with your head up, and look for tackle too. He takes himself out of a lot of plays.
