I saw something the other day that is so true.  One major reason why Trump has not been able to renegotiate anything is because nobody trusts him.

So, now we have that he discontinued these programs like DACA immediately when he took office.  He then turns around and claims the Dems don't care about DACA people because they won't do anything to protect them.  He has not offered anything to protect them.  NOW....he's in day 31 of the shut down, his popularity is going in the tank with anyone who isn't a blind Trumpee.  He then comes out and makes an offer to give DACA people three year of protection if he gets his 51 billion for the wall.

Now...hmmmm....three years.  Gee.....isn't it interesting that the time runs out BEFORE he would leave office (if he gets reelected).  

The guy can not be trusted to feed a cat....let alone do something to help other people.

Imagine walking into someones house and destroying everything inside and then trying to charge them to temporarily replace everything you destroyed.

 
One of our GOP US House reps was on local talk radio this morning defending the President's plan - basically repeating Trump's line that the Dems won't come to the table. He failed to mention that Trump is only offering back temporarily that which Trump has taken away previously.   He went on to say, he expects this to go on another 2 weeks - missed pay check. Then all hell will break out and something will get done. 

 
If Trump and conservatives can ask us for blind fealty to our immigration officials in the name of national security, the rest of us should sure as heck counter with this. It feels a hell of a lot more fact-based.

Lara Trump: the shutdown is a “little bit of pain” for workers, but worth it




It’s day 33 of the longest government shutdown in American history, and federal workers are facing a second missed paycheck.

Lara Trump, President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and reelection campaign adviser, had a message for the furloughed workers and those working without pay: It will be worth it.

“Listen, it’s not fair to you, and we all get this, but this is so much bigger than any one person,” she said in an interview with Bold TV. “It’s a little bit of pain, but it’s going to be for the future of our country.”

Future Americans will be grateful for the shutdown, Lara Trump said: “Their children and their grandchildren will thank them for their sacrifice right now.”

Although she said she empathized with workers’ plights — “I know they have bills to pay, they have mortgages, they have rents that are due” — Trump’s comments sparked a backlash because of her personal wealth.

Regardless, she said fixing immigration policy was more important: “He knows we need a wall — or a structure, however you want to talk about it,” she said, adding that the “broken” immigration system needed these workers to be strong for their country. She then expressed gratitude to the workers who have been going without paychecks for more than a month.

Fixing immigration at the expense of 800,000 American workers is not more important.  Like at all.  

And the Democrats are offering $1.3B for border security fencing and repairs to fencing.  He's stuck on $5B and the word 'wall' to be included in the budget bill.

 
I’m confused as to how hurting Americans that weren’t previously having problems.....solves a problem of immigrants. 

What a strange concept. 

 
In a world of weird political messes we are having to deal with, we need to continue to find humor.  

I'm finding humor in this.  Trump told Nancy that he WAS going to deliver the SOTU address in congress.  Hmmmmm....not sure that he knows he actually needs the house to vote to allow him to do it.

The media needs to not cover whatever antics he ends up scheduling for that date. Especially CBS, ABC, and NBC.
