Racism - It's a real thing.

The House passed a symbolic resolution condemning bigotry, but 23 Republicans voted against it. And Steve King simply voted "present."

The House approved a resolution Thursday to condemn "anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism and other forms of bigotry" in a move that Democrats hope will quell the latest uproar over Rep. Ilhan Omar's criticism of Israel.

The vote on the measure was 407-23. The 23 opposed were all Republican lawmakers.

Voting for bigotry with his colleagues might not sit well with the GOP leadership and could lead to further punishment. But voting against bigotry, as you can imagine, might do serious damage to the Steve King, white supremacist brand. Clearly, the vote put Rep. King in a tough spot, politically. A portion of the resolution, after all, was devoted to denouncing white supremacy

Did I miss something?  Tax returns are because someone paid TOO MUCH income tax, not because they didn't pay.
The discussion is about people that have a tax bill of zero, but still get things like the Child Tax Credit.

They would be refunded whatever taxes were withheld PLUS receive "free" money from the govt.

While I think that probably needs to get fixed, what percentage of the population has you triggered? I bet it's not very high...
That figure is around 47% don't pay income tax, that's what started this tangent.   However, the entire 47% isn't complaining about how much they are or aren't getting back.

How so?

I guess the estimate for this year is around 44%

By the time you take out the students, elderly, disabled, military, institutionalized....bla bla...bla.....that figure is much much smaller.  The stat is used to make people outraged at all the lazy people living off us hard working people.  Reality is, the vast majority of them are not people who you're going to kick off of assistance or all of a sudden start making pay income tax.

FORBES

It doesn't make the stat misleading, it's simply a description of the population of the stat.

They're the people that complain the most, and have the nerve to b!^@h because their tax return wasn't  as much as other years, etc.... Despite not paying a dime in Income tax.
Dude at my office paid $1800 in (must claim 10), and received $3000 back. I know this because he bragged about it for about 3 months. Yet, always complains about his tax dollars.
