Yes, it is, but perhaps I wasn't clear in what I'm saying is a misnomer. You said 'what platform isn't nowadays' which suggests that, at some point, outlets didn't push agendas. This is factually inaccurate. What I'm saying is that it has pretty much always been an issue since the dawn of journalism. You can find examples of it in some of the first newspapers ever printed. Hence, it's not an excuse for reading or supporting bad journalism (I'm not accusing you of this explicitly - just speaking in generalities).

Portraying politically incorrect opinions, doesn't make your message propanganda.

I agree on principle, but I don't agree in the application we're discussing. Any form of informational media that knowingly (or ignorantly) misrepresents facts, and not for the sole purpose of parody (i.e. The Onion), is disconcerting.

Add hskerprid to this category. What's the deal lately with random posters who have never ventured into P&R before suddenly jumping in, and hosing down the place with nonsense? It's like some sort of Trump-poltergeist is possessing Huskerboard members a couple days at a time for no other reason than to troll the board and then move on again. 

He's not even expressing an opinion, just blatant falsehoods and conspiracies.

He does that about every 6 months or so.

I'm waiting for bnhil to stop the eyerolls troll and post again.

*Edit* I just actually read what he posted. In principle I completely agree with him. Although I don't think illegal immigration is as big of an issue as he is making. Extremism, no matter what side it comes from, is never the right answer.

I agree with that part too - but he's swung between complaining about "issues at the southern border" to "chain immigration" to "illegal immigration" - would love to drill down and better understand if he gets the talking points he's spewing or if he just regurgitates.

Some of the stuff he's posting in the Domestic Policy thread about Congress obstructing Trump and the Clintons controlling judges is just stupid conspiratorial crap. Hard to tell how far down the rabbit hole he goes with this stuff.

@ZRod there's a way to believe that we need more restrictive immigration and increased enforcement/border security while doing it from a place of compassion and moral leadership the U.S. should stand for. And then there's just demonizing brown immigrants altogether and painting them as some scary, malevolent other who need reigned in with cruel, draconian policies designed not to necessarily work effectively but to scare other immigrants and act as a deterrent.

Conservatism has slid much further toward the latter than we should be comfortable with. And I'm not saying that as some open borders lefty kook. The crisis on the southern border is one we created with our inhumane policies.

 
It’s almost impossible to discuss things when you know the person is neck deep in sources that are complete bologna.

I’m worried about the direction of this country when people seek stuff out that just makes them feel better about their wrong opinions.

 
So just for the record... Is it one person eyetrolling every post in PR, and is it the same one who pouty faced the Masque shooting post? Because if it is they need to get a long time out. They're a piece of s#!t for that last one.

Should have posted it here ... I am wondering if Ric is back as a MNBigRed poster.  Use of "Trump Derangement Syndrome" and all the !! is very similar.
