It's to the point where I try to heavily limit the amount of time I engage with her, even as a normal contributor. She's always quick to condemn people for putting words in her mouth but that's precisely what she's doing with this Roxy discussion. No, no, no. It's only all those other people who are trolling. I was only teasing. The difference should be obvious.
I think you're spot on with your comments about trolling, but I also think results are indicative. It's no secret Moiraine and Roxy haven't liked each other for quite awhile, so when Roxy started posting again, Moiraine dropped that Brokeback Mountain gif in there, and Roxy started going after her, I look at that as trolling. The outcome was inevitable, avoidable, and could've been seen coming from a mile away. Yet, Moiraine twists it into 'oh I guess we're not allowed to tease her or interact with her because of an unwritten mod rule.' Give me a freakin' break.
I guess I also just don't understand why this select group of people cares so much. Roxy's thread is not even a blip on my radar. I never see it or pay attention to it, even when it has new content, and I feel like we're not going that far out of our way to make Roxy feel welcome here.
I'm on board with this. I think the call-to-action we've put forth is pretty simple and fair. At this point, we can only assume someone going in there and posting obviously off-topic or subversive content is trying to troll. Moiraine has claimed that she's going to back off now but who knows how she'll be feeling next week.I'm late to this party, but I think about anything and everything Moiraine and others have posted in Roxy's music video thread, which admittedly is different, but not board violating and perhaps therapeutic for Roxy, is low brow and shouldn't be tolerate further.
