Moiraine

I have suspended her for two weeks for the below post. IMO, this is her final chance. Her abrasiveness is growing tiresome.

Yeah, good work on that.

Not that she doesn't have a bit of a point (which you also took care of) but she COMPLETELY over-reacts to a LOT of things.

No, no, no. It's only all those other people who are trolling. I was only teasing. The difference should be obvious.

Like I've been saying, pretty much everyone is a troll to some extent. Whose trolling offends us is basically a function of if we agree with it or find it humourous.

Keep up the yoeman's work, @Enhance. I'll see if I can provide backup when I'm not on mobile.

It's to the point where I try to heavily limit the amount of time I engage with her, even as a normal contributor. She's always quick to condemn people for putting words in her mouth but that's precisely what she's doing with this Roxy discussion.

I think you're spot on with your comments about trolling, but I also think results are indicative. It's no secret Moiraine and Roxy haven't liked each other for quite awhile, so when Roxy started posting again, Moiraine dropped that Brokeback Mountain gif in there, and Roxy started going after her, I look at that as trolling. The outcome was inevitable, avoidable, and could've been seen coming from a mile away. Yet, Moiraine twists it into 'oh I guess we're not allowed to tease her or interact with her because of an unwritten mod rule.' Give me a freakin' break.

I guess I also just don't understand why this select group of people cares so much. Roxy's thread is not even a blip on my radar. I never see it or pay attention to it, even when it has new content, and I feel like we're not going that far out of our way to make Roxy feel welcome here.

Exactly.  To even try to play it off like some innocent post when everyone and their dog knows exactly what you are doing is just stupid.  She's one of the fastest to complain about others but thinks she's always right.

There is basically no difference between what she did and all the complaining she did about eye rolls - which were her idea in the first place.

This is the thing I can't figure out either.  It's one thread.  You know what's in it.  It's not that hard to avoid it.  I can't for the life of me figure out why one thread here or there gets people all bent out of shape.

I'm late to this party, but I think about anything and everything Moiraine and others have posted in Roxy's music video thread, which admittedly is different, but not board violating and perhaps therapeutic for Roxy, is low brow and shouldn't be tolerate further.

I'm equally as confused why that specific group of people felt it important enough to even try to stir the pot. Roxy's posting is innocuous and isn't interfering with anything or anyone. To go in there almost with the intent of causing a reaction is trolling.

I'm on board with this. I think the call-to-action we've put forth is pretty simple and fair. At this point, we can only assume someone going in there and posting obviously off-topic or subversive content is trying to troll. Moiraine has claimed that she's going to back off now but who knows how she'll be feeling next week.

For what it's worth, I told Moiraine the last time she received a warning that her next one would be a permaban. I think it would suck if something perceptibly minor like this were to end up being the catalyst for her departure, but she should be well aware of where she stands at this point and that her margin for error is more slim than others.
