The Village of the "Banned"

How many actually stick around though, and actually are new.

Hard to say.

Just looking at the people who have recently responded to posts in Husker Football, you have people that have been members for:

That includes one that I think is a sock of a formerly banned account.

I don't know what that tells us about how many stick around. Some?

How are people figuring out who the former posters are?  I don't venture into the P&R forums but I'm guessing it's where most of the clues come from.  Otherwise, I must be dense.

I always wondered that too.

Some members, maybe especially many formerly banned members have certain posting habits. Phrasing, certain things they always like to comment on, specific douchy things they do etc. So, when those things show back up on the board in new users it can appear fairly obvious. Another clue is brand new users who immediately understand exactly how the board works, who on day one pick right back up in the shed or seemingly already have a problem with other posters. It’s not an exact science.....until a mod tracks down their IP.

Yes, I’m a former FBI Mindhunter  :smokin

Speaking of that - Season 2 was better than 1 imo.

Yep. Requires zero doxxing, and many people pick up on it right away.

I can't imagine being banned from a sports message board only to then hold a grudge and spend the next several years trying to regain access and/or troll the board.

Totally!

I'm dense.  I thought I was familiar with StPaul's posting style but Feral Hogs could have posted for years and I still would have been clueless.

I don’t happen to share the thought those two are the same person  :dunno

Feral Hogs posting style does not remind me of St Paul at all.

Edit- I've changed my mind. Pretty sure they're one in the same.
