Maurice Washington Faces Charges

Man reading through that report, It’s really hard to for me to see why this is still a case.

Theres zero indication that Maurice knew this was an assault. She starts the convo “what’s up stud” and asked why he blocked her and Maurice (already stated by the girls family he was hurt by the video), says remember this ho and sends it back to her? This is high school drama you see on MTV, not a felony case.
Other than the fact that he supposedly possessed and sent a video of a minor in a sex act which he was supposed to delete, yeah, not much of a case here...

It appears to be unclear if he personally was ever directed to delete the video I thought. New information was people didn't know he had it though I could be wrong about that.

Either way it doesn't really matter. Pretty much any precedent you look at means he's guilty of possessing child porn, if it was his ex. See the huffpo link on the previous page. Now, maybe there is an ethical debate to be had about when he aquirred it but that's for the lawyers to figure out, because if he goes to trial with that charge on the docket, he's f#&%ed.

What is clear though is that he maliciously sent it, with an intent to shame or injure. And here we are.

We will see how it goes. I'd imagine a misdemeanor plea but that certainly isn't certain. That's what it should be and the new information only cements that for me. You know my stance Capo I'm not gonna keep going over it but realistically he is going to play out the season and if he doesn't get time he is going to stay on the team and finish his career here and hopefully go on to the pros as he should barring any other misconduct. What he did was wrong but lets be rational about the consequences.

And the last part there isn't my opinion on what should happen, just what realistically will probably happen given everything we know.

Edit: lol i say its not my opinion then I say as he should. Let me clarify that. I think he should finish his career here ect. If he doesn't get time. My view on the matter is 4 game suspension as far as him playing but Ive stated such

That’s an over simplification right? Let’s understand these we’re teenagers in a relationship with bad vibes, let’s not act like he is Jared in the subway ads.

I'll say this and then I'm done. Punishment from Nebraska and the revenge porn misdemeanor put aside - I think there is legit arguments on both of those. The Child Porn charge against Mo is a bunch of BS. That law is in place to protect children from adult predators. We're talking adults who pray on children - not teenagers who have consensual sexually explicit material of people within a year of age, on their smart devices.  To put him in jail, put him on the sex offender list and basically ruin his life for this would be absolutely insane and I can't with a good conscious say that should even be on that table, after reading that report.

It's strange the different takes people can have upon reading that full report. My take away is that this should have never gotten beyond the high school cafeteria gossip. I guess that's what happens when you have a threesome that one of the parties videos. The school gets upset that students have the video. A parent gets upset because they can't face all these people knowing what their girl did. Two boys get their hand slapped by the legal system for participating. And when it comes back up some time later, an ex-boyfriend who did something really stupid, past an arbitrary age date, is facing the harshest charges of all. Personally, I give this girl and her mother's account zero credibility. You should have to prove sexual assault or rape before you refer to it as such years later. At this point in time I would be surprised if this doesn't get plead down to next to nothing. Barring new info, a half game suspension (if that is what it was for) seems about right to me.

It is interesting how we can all read the same thing and come to such different conclusions. Shaming by sex video is serious to me and comes with the price of losing out on opportunities like playing for Nebraska. I think a minimum 6 game suspension for sending the video, regardless of what laws Mo did or didn't break and regardless of whether he's punished by the law.
