Yup- our guys need to play smarter. Surround the ball and down it.It makes sense to me. The ball isn’t touched in bounds and then the receiver establishes him OOB, and touches the ball, which makes the ball OOB.

If we dont have a kicker all year then the play calling must reflect knowing we have 4 downs everytime.Might not have a kicker all year. Just try to overcome it. The fumbling is a huge concern. Every hit I expected a fumble.
Sometimes that frees up the offense, but it will probably cost us a close game or two.If we dont have a kicker all year then the play calling must reflect knowing we have 4 downs everytime.
But he didn’t touch it in bounds before going out of bounds. He established himself OOB, touched the ball, and that makes the ball OOB. It’s like a player trying to recover a fumble but if he’s OOB when touching the ball, it makes the ball OOB. Don’t get mad because you didn’t know the rule. But the player went out of bounds on his own then came back in to recover the ball
The 2 point run by Martinez was nice. He just took off and found the end zone with his speed.Maybe we oughta just go for two most times, especially if the offense rolls like it was.
I learned that if I get pissed and nearly throw my TV at half, but decide to spend the rest of the game on an angry walk, it actually feels pretty good. View attachment 15383
Yes it should. But yards don’t always equal points. NU had a missed 4th down in the first quarter and a missed FG at the end of the game. Illinois also had TD drives of 2 yards and 14 yards after turnovers. The Huskers win the yardage battle 690-299. This should be a 3 TD win.
I’m not mad and I know the rule but I still think it’s a stupid rule. Gotta admit it’s a loophole situation that has consequences far too serious for the kicking team. I mean we did not technically kick the ball out of bounds. It’s just a fluky deal that gave them way better field position than I think a team deserves in that situation. But he didn’t touch it in bounds before going out of bounds. I'll take the road win. 690 yards and 32 first downs is a 60 spot.Yes it should. But yards don’t always equal points. NU had a missed 4th down in the first quarter and a missed FG at the end of the game. Illinois also had TD drives of 2 yards and 14 yards after turnovers.
With 98 plays, there is going to be a few busts in line play. But I agree, the line played fairly well tonight. What offensive line play are you guys complaining about? Martinez got hit twice all night on passes?
