The move had to be made.It was a HUGE mistake for Nebraska to join the Big 10! We are now a small fish in a big pond when we used to HUGE fish in a small pond in the Big 8 and 12. Ugh!

I'd begin with the unholy trio of Pederson, Pearlman, and Eichorst...Well this program has been broken since 2003. We fired a 9 win coach, who played for a Natty. We then hired a this Callahan dude who was completely clueless. Fired that for a first time head who did great with Cally's talent, but once that left, was inept. Changed conferences and lost every bit of anything we had left. Now were in a conference with no real rival because, well we don't belong, next our tradition says were going to kick your tail, but our program says otherwise. Got pissed because we thought we got screwed by TEXAS in the Big 12, and maybe we did, but I rather get screwed by my step brother than by my brother in law.
So in short we lost our identity many, many years ago now. We lost our culture and our tradition. We finally hire a coach who might be able to get us back, but he may not as well because we really do suck this bad and its hard to imagine that on name alone we can't bring in the best of the best. Issue is our name means nothing now except we are more known for firing 9 wins coaches than winning division titles. So the ball is in our court right now. Stay the course and give Frost time to try and get things done, or say the hell with that and find another Callahan.
We don't have the things that make us, us anymore. We have to manufacture rivalry games with Iowa and Wisky. We have to recruit areas that frankly, we cant compete against. We can't get players from Ohio to come here, and we can't get Texas players here anymore, and why would a player from Florida dare come here to play. No this programs failure to compete is on everyone for poor decisions made over the last 16 years.
We were not doing so great in the Big 12 either. The move had to be made.
Agreed, but I think he is holding players back. Anyway I hope so.I think most people know that. The problem is they're almost half way through that and the teams getting worse.
Nobody gets 4-5 years without showing some serious progress... 2 years in and its getting worse. It's a 4 to 5 year project. Whether anyone here likes or not.
Wow, I'm glad you now alot about football. LolNobody gets 4-5 years without showing some serious progress... 2 years in and its getting worse.
Just not true. Left because record against UT was 1-9.The move had to be made.
Frost and this staff are getting paid at an elite level with that come expectations. I didn't think Nebraska woukd be challenging for big10 titles any time soon but what has this staff done to make this team better? Offense struggles, defense struggles special teams struggle. Frost is still saysbthe culture is broken. On and off the field this team is still a mess. Again i don't expect them to be going 10-2 but this ain't acceptable. Why? We have a guard playing tackle, a walk-on playing guard, no depth at wide target, terrible lbs & lots of youth.
Again, a piss poor excuse. Why? We have a guard playing tackle, a walk-on playing guard, no depth at wide target, terrible lbs & lots of youth.
Whether you like it or not, this move was more than about football. It opened up lots of funding for academics.Just not true. Left because record against UT was 1-9.
One and nine.
Me too but its hard to say since we never get to see any players but the ones that repeatedly screw up.Agreed, but I think he is holding players back. Anyway I hope so.
Wow twiceAgain, a piss poor excuse.
There are 150 players on this team and you're telling me that they cannot find good enough players to switch things around.
There are teams throughout college football that are littered with true freshman playing and yet we seemed to use the excuse that they are not ready.
